Skating rink was closed but we could have gone into the building to the viewing point but had done a few others already. The side Chapels, the ceilings, the stained glass windows and the alter are all magnificent and well worth a visit. One of the most famous stadiums in the world, lived up to expectations. - Linda K7 contributionsThere's just nothing like visiting the theatres in NYC! If you go, dress up though -- the way it used to be! Even Hugh Jackman (Music Man) made the comment on stage about how people "used to dress for the theatre." We wore our finest and drew lots of attention afterwards in Times Square. So many passers by (maybe 8 groups) stopped to say how nice we looked and even took our pictures that pretty soon others suspected we were celebrities they simply didn't recognize and circled around and took our pictures. It is more residential as you head further uptown with very exclusive apartment buildings. St Patrick's Cathedral is located on Fifth Avenue as well. - The Sushi Guy 🍣Long Island, NY13,036 contributionsThis is our first visit to the Meatpacking District. We came for a visit to the Lucid Studio. Plenty of old architecture in this neighborhood. Many of the old meatpacking plants were converted to restaurants, trendy stores, art galleries with apartments above.
My favorite part of this neighborhood was the cobblestone streets. Seeing the cobblestone makes you think of the times of horse and buggy.
The neighborhood was very busy and bustling on a warm spring Sunday. No shortage of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Note: This neighborhood is accessible by bus.
