The history of the Statue and how it was manufactured is amazing.
You definitely need a guide to give you the inside information on this island and the statue of liberty itself.
Make sure you have time for the museum on the island too.

The architect did an amazing job designing an exterior that appears to be angel wings in an area of national grief. It is a beautiful sight and appreciated by all that see it.

A nice tribute to John. A statue would be better, we were told his wife didn't want a statue but there are many other statue tributes to others in Central Park that look majestic.

Thankfully, there were some roses on the tribute. I was glad there was as didn't have the opportunity to buy any to place on there. Busker singing Beatles songs by it. Everyone was respectful when we visited, it was busy but no one standing, sitting or doing selfies on the tribute!

A really lovely tribute to Lewis Carroll who was born in my home county and his works! Wouldn't have known the statue is more than 60 years old. Nice to see.

If you have a little time to kill, then this might be a good choice. Two long queues that go onto the road: one to take a photo of/with the bull's head, and another for the back of the bull.

Do not miss this memorial wall. When you visit the 9/11 memorial you are really visiting a several block area. While the two felled towers were the focal point, the surrounding area was severely impacted. This itty bitty firehouse (Ladder and Engine #10) would have been the first to respond by walking across the street. The exterior wall of this firehouse has a memorial wall that will move you.

After you finish this visit, walk up the hill to St. Paul's Chapel. How these buildings survived the falling towers is unimaginable.

To the fireman that work here now and those that lost their lives that day, thank you. My dad was a life long fireman in Iowa. I solute what you do!

So happy to have the chance to see the Fearless Girl. She’s a tiny statue, but she represents so much. Definitely worth combining it with seeing the charging bull down the street.

Recommend seeing it if you are the stock trading type.

There are many things to see and do in Central Park but if history is the aim, Cleopatras Needle provides the best option! At over 3500 years old it is truly remarkable how well this artefact has stood the test of time.

A lovely spot close to the MET where you can sit on a bench and just admire the craftsmanship that it took all those years ago when this was created. The fact that the hieroglyphics are so well visible really gets the imagination racing especially considering this was created pre-Cleopatra herself!

Dog statue in central park. It is situated in the park but shows up on the street on the map on TripAdvisor which isn't in the right spot.

Vibrant area surrounding Rockefeller Center. The most magical time to visit is during the winter months when the Christmas Tree is on display and the skating rink is open.

Very poignant memorial to the Merchant Mariner's who have sacrificed a lot in service. The memorial is easy to miss if there are long lines waiting for the boat to the Statue of Liberty.

Poignant and humbling. It certainly reflects the feeling of him and the rest who were caught up in 9/11 and indeed in all the tragedies of the past.

Now known as The Survivor as he came through 9/11 with a few scrapes and scratches. It is a well modelled sculpture of an ordinary working man which is very poignant in this location so close to Ground Zero.

It was a pleasure to come across him while just walking up the street.
