We so enjoyed our tour today of Chinatown and Little Italy! Such a unique way to see and taste areas of the city that are off the usual beaten path. Braeden was a great guide, sharing interesting stories along the way. The pizza was some of the best we have ever had! Truly something for everyone. Would highly recommend!

Ian was super friendly and the food stops were tasty. Loved how he took me around Greenwich and explained landmarks and history along the way. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Whether you're a tourist or a local, Like A Local Tour promises an enjoyable food and history journey. I joined their Chelsea Market tour and it is very well-designed. Seriously all the food we had was 10/10 delicious, like I am willing to revisit these vendors in the future. The portion is also just right — you get to try a bit of everything, while not suffering from overeating.

As a NYC newbie, I wouldn't have discovered these exceptional vendors at Chelsea Market and Pier 57 if I hadn't joined their tour. Highly recommend joining their tours if you have friends or family visiting New York, so they can get a full experience of the diverse food scene.

    1. Filaga Pizza
We tried Puttanesca Siciliana (very puffy dough) and Margherita New York Slice (crispy and thin crust). Both are not too oily and very light.

    2. Takumi Taco *
Japanese beef curry rice taco really stood out to me. Juicy and tender as if you’re drinking a curry beef stew. Loved the crispy shell!

    3. Joey Bats **
My friend’s favorite snack of the tour. Very authentic Pastéis de Natas, with a custardy center and cinnamon powder sprinkled on top. Served warm.

    4. Seed and Mill ***
My FAVORITE food in this tour. The vegan chocolate soft serve with pistachio halva and tahini drizzle totally blew my mind. The BEST pistachio soft serve I’ve had lately. Def going back to get a jar of their pistachio halva.

    5. Doughnuttery
Bite-sized mini doughnuts popping out fresh off the oven. Pillowy texture. Our preference: Lemon > Pumpkin Spice = Pistachio Lavender > Chai = Apple Cider

    6. Nom Wah
If you don’t wanna wait in line in their Chinatown location, go to their Pier 57 stall! We tried three different dumplings (chicken, shrimp and pork) and they were all very solid. Gluten-free dumpling wrapper available.

    7. Local Roots
We got the last batch of miso sesame chocolate chips cookies. Boba was just okay, but good news — they offer gluten-free boba.

    8. Dickson's Farmstand Meats
LNY special: the lucky char siu hot dog ($8.88).

We also got samples at vendors like Fat Witch Bakery, Li-Lac Chocolate, Zach and Zoe Honey.

It is very nice to have a tour guide like Alex. He knew so much history and his storytelling was SO GOOD! The whole group was so in tune, it was like we were watching a PBS special (my husband mentioned this during the tour with Alex.. LOL). The food was yummy and we learned so much about the history of this great city.

Greg was fantastic! He has a deep connection to the neighborhood, people and food, which made the tour very genuine. We felt like we were family. And while we went for the food, which was delicious, we walked away with so much more. We also had a wheelchair, which was no problem at all to navigate the streets and enjoy the tour. Thank you Greg for a wonderful experience.

Bruce was an excellent tour guide. Not only did he educate us on the immigration history of the neighborhoods in Lower East Side and lead us to establishments that serve food that is typical of the culture in these neighborhoods, he also pointed out other cultural highlights along the way. Because we were able to navigate the tour more quickly than other tours that Bruce has lead, we were treated to an additional stop!

This was a really fun tour of some great little international joints. Claire was bubbly, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and its history. We will definitely visit the neighborhood again and do another tour with this company!

I'm impressed with how much we were able to make in 3 hours!

We made ravioli and fettucine from scratch (the most fun part), tiramisu (just put the layers together, really), mozzarella, and watched a demo on chicken marsala.
I loved learning a few tidbits here and there and appreciated all the support and direction from the chef (chef Y I think?)

The food was so delicious, particularly the ravioli and the tiramisu. The cheese filling in the ravioli made it so unique (pecorino, ricotta, lemon, herbs, YUM).

The group was really large (40 people) but everyone was friendly and we got to meet new people.

Had fun the entire night. An evening well spent!
