I've been taking classes at Mission Beach Pilates for just over a month. I started with a free class and liked the studio an instructor so much I signed up for introductory unlimited classes for 30 days for $85. The studio is light and bright. It puts me in a good mode just walking in. The classes work for beginners like me and the more experienced. The instructor, Jennifer, has a deep understanding of Pilates. She runs her classes at a well-paced tempo with humor.

Aly is friendly, kind but most of all knowledgable. While traveling to La Jolla my sister and I visited her for 3 classes. It was my sister's first Pilates and I am recovering from ACL surgery. Aly made it work for both of us. She was safe and gave us a great workout. Thank you!

What an amazing place! My favourite was the evening yoga on the deck with heaters, perfect reflection of lighting on the trees, stars in the sky and healing music....it just enhances your experience. They do All Levels of yoga and the staff is highly trained. So grateful I found this place! A true gem!

This gym has both sport (rope) climbing as well as bouldering.

The walls are high (about 60'), and there is a large variety of high quality routes.

Clean and modern with exercise and workout equipment. Seating and tables for hanging out.

    Staff are friendly and helpful,

As soon as you step into the door of this studio, you feel at home. The cozy gift shop entrance to the yoga studio with wall yoga and aerial silks - this place has a magic. The instructors are gentle, yet constructive. At times I also wanted to just do my own thing and stretch a different way, and I felt the freedom and acceptance to do so. It felt quite liberating! They offer a variety of classes so it doesn't get boring. I have also been to one of their retreats and that took my yoga to another conscious level. My husband and I enjoyed a laid-back weekend full of yoga practices, healthy food and healing activities (crafts, sound healing, reiki, etc) with friendly people right on the beach. As I mentioned before, you feel at home at Mission Beach Yoga because the people there make you feel like family. Namaste.

The community is great. Nicole is the best yoga instructor I've had in my life. She gives very specific instructions so that I learn to feel when I'm doing it "right." And she also explains why we're doing it. (She does the healthy hips and healthy back.) Yin yoga was new to me and a good place for someone with injuries or new to yoga or just inflexible to start. On the down side, not all instructors give sufficiently specific instruction and the studio temperature is intentionally set too high for my comfort.

I have tried many skin care services and no one knows this topic better than Valerie. Not only telling me I don't have good skins but she was able to locate the source of the issue gave me professional suggestions. It is as good as returning home for dinner vs dinning outside. Valerie was so nice. I can't believe how wonderful my skin looked and felt!

With small class sizes and extremely knowledgeable and educated teachers, Studio Flo is a phenomenal place. The studio is not only focused on a work out, but also works to teach all of the students about their bodies and the Pilates method. Having only 8 people in a class makes it easy for the teachers to engage each person, so you really feel like you are getting 1 on 1 attention.

I first found CoreBody Pilates Plus throughh a facebook ad for their challenge which talked about losing fat and gaining muscle. I had just lost 40lbs on my own and at that point in my journey that is exactly what I was hoping to do so I figured I'd give it a go. Well not only did I lose fat and gain muscle, but I also gained more knowledge regarding food and more importantly an extended family because I fell in love with this studio.
The instructors are down to earth, caring, funny, challenging, knowledgealble and helpful. The classes, no matter if it's a cardio or strength class, continue to push me to my limits, in a good way.
So after that challenge was over when given the chance to sign up or end my time at Core Body Pilates Plus I honestly paused. I loved the gym, the classes, the people....but I worried about the cost. There were a number of local gyms there were offering free 2-week passes and month costs that were either the same of $20 less per month. I thought I'd try some diferent gyms with these free trials until I found something that fit just as well. That lasted 3 days. Nothing fit. I tried 3 differnet local gyms and didn't like any of them as much as Core Body Pilates Plus. It just wasn't the same, it wasn't Lagree, it didn't push me to my max while giving me personal attention in small classes. I told my husband how I was feeling and he immediately said, don't worry about the money, we'll figure it out. I signed up that day and I've been doing 5 days a week since then and each and every day I'm so very thankful. I'm healthier, stronger, thiner, and happier and each day these amazing women change up the classes enough so that I'm never doing the same thing even though I'm in the same class. That part amazes me....how they come up with such different routines each week so that all of us feel like we're in a new class, even if this is our 100th class.
When I first started at Core Body Pilates Plus I was exercising for 1.5 each day but not moving much on the scale each week. Once I started at CBPP, I was only at the gym for 45 minutes but those minutes were more effective as I started losing fat and gaining muscle and that scale began to drop again. How do I know that I was losing fat and gaining muscle? Beacuse they have a special scale that does a full body analysis and will tell you your body composition. This is so important as muscle weighs more than fat so a traditional scale can be decieving.
So if you're looking to be challenged, to be supportive, to have not just a gym but a community/family feel, come to CoreBody Pilates Plus.

If you're only in town for a day or a week and are looking for a gym, they offer a variety of classes throughout the day and have drop in rates of $10 as well as a special rate for a 2-week new client trial.

We were in San Diego as tourists for a week and I had been advised to seek out a Thai Yoga Massage. Not having time during normal life ... vacation seemed to be the time. I found Thai Yoga Massage, made the call for an appointment and was welcomed in. Charunee is an excellent massage therapist, I highly recommend.

I'm really glad I found this place during my longer trip in West California and Hawai before going back to Europe. Spending time at this yoga on First studio was great boost of the energy for the whole day. I took classes here in the morning and then later went to see the beach at Coronado or other days to have some meetings and also see multiple city attractions and then ended the day at this studio to have an evening classes.

This yoga studio is awesome, it's very clean, candles, fountain, warm and you feel the smiles of people and it gives you that mood of a peace, relax and sometimes a good workout depending on a class - and that's exactly what I needed. This is so far my most favourite yoga studio from the ones I visited in Europe, North America and East Asia.

As for a tourist, you will definitely not make a mistake if you spend your time here. Great also for couples to spend more time together. Easy to get there. There is a parking. There is a sauna. I could save my things in a locker during the class & turn off my mind, I did not have towels - they let me use their clean towels with a mat, refil water. Depending on the class there was also a humidifier and a heat or no heat, not like bikram.
Ohh and that part of the city seems to have also very good restaurants and places where you can get fresh juice- yummy! Just ask the locals on the street.

I took classes with Nancita and I think Parisa (if I spell it right). Nancita is a wonderful teacher, inspiration, she seems to have a very beautiful soul and makes you feel very welcome. Parisa was also great.
I'm planning to be in NA, San Diego again before the end of this year and nobody will stop me from going to this beautiful place again!! :-)
    THANK YOU !!!
