- Placido VKauai, Hawaii, Usa74 contributionsI am a History Buff and I did a Walking Tour, Hop On Hop Off Tour, Duck Boat Tour and Ghost and Gravestone Tour. All of them provided their own unique perspectives of the history of Boston. The characters dress the part. Initially they can be spooky but as the tour progresses you can see what wonderful people they are.
I need to give a shout out to a young lady-Evil. The company had at least 5 tours scheduled from 530 to 800 PM. She had to wait in the cemetery in the dark for each tour to arrive. The tour is not so much about scaring you. She took us to some of the coolest bars that we’ve ever walked into and shared numerous stories on the history of Boston and the haunted stories surrounding them! - amymelson00122 contributionsIt was a huge group but the company was prepared with two guides who split the group in 2 and managed those groups very well. The first pub was amazing. The guides were both very friendly and good story tellers. We did drop out of the tour by the third stop because the bars we were going to were very crowded and loud with live bands at the time of the tour. There is nothing wrong with that, but it’s just not our scene or what we were looking for. Our guide gave us a great recommendation for late night desserts at Bova where we headed after leaving. - John LAsheville, NC19 contributionsMy schedule didn’t allow me to take a ghost tour in the evening but I was very interested in learning the stories anyway. WalknTours to the rescue. I took the tour during the day and it was great. Another bonus of a daytime tour was that the Central Burying Ground is open during daylight hours so I was able to enter (not possible on an evening tour). I actually did the tour back-to-back with the Underground Railroad tour so it made for a fun and educational day around Boston. Another great thing about the tour is you can “relisten” to it after the tour is over. I couldn’t remember one fact that was told at the Athenaeum, so a quick “replay” refreshed my memory.
