Went looking for my wife’s favorite books. Just fyi, there’s no smut here. Good collection of collectible books however.

Along the Freedom Trail this site has a joint ticket with the Old State House. This was a hotbed of Patriot activity and the planning place for the Boston Tea Party. Inside they have exhibits on how the Meeting House evolved over the years and the campaign to save it.

    Just go!

They have something for everyone. My kids got a few albums each - amazing prices and great selections. They both found “hard to find” albums they’ve been searching for. Cool little spot - but, actually super huge. Employees were super friendly.

My wife and I visited during a week-long trip to Boston in early July. We had actually come to take the Fenway Park tour and we waited in the store for a little under an hour before our tour began. We did end up buying a Red Sox T-shirt and a Red Sox umbrella, the latter only because it was raining cats and dogs and we were going to need it during the tour.

This store has a great selection of merchandise, some of which you can't get anywhere else. However, for those items that you CAN get elsewhere in town, we found that the prices were usually a little lower there than in the team store. I would have expected it to be the other way around. Perhaps there is a surcharge for being across the street from hallowed ground.

What a great bookstore to find yourself - stumbled across it as we were wandering around Boston. I could have easily spent a few hours in here if I had not been pulled away. Floor to ceiling books, prints, and maps. Being a book lover, this was one of the best stops. Staff was very helpful and you can find older and rare books along with some newer editions.

I’ve only purchased pens online so to see and try pens I’ve dreamed of was amazing. The shop is rather small, but that adds to the charm. They have an amazing selection from intro level Lamy’s to luxury Aurora’s and Mount Blancs. They have a huge selection of Noodlers Inks, Rhodia and Clairfontaine papers, pen refills, and lots more. Wonderful staff. I hope to return again and blow the rest of my pen budget!!

Boston Red Sox! Fenway Park! Do I need to say anything else? Even if you are not a Red Sox fan, it's more than worth it to visit.

The finest chocolate shop in the USA, if not the world! The chocolates are always fresh and so amazing! The varieties are incredible! I recommend all the truffles, but especially the champagne, espresso, white chocolate, jasmin, and gianduja. Stefan is incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Truly the best chocolates in the world, in a beautiful shopping setting in a luxurious brownstone on Newbury St in Boston.

Tried to stick mostly with a variety of chocolate bars. Bought a little bit of what I thought was fudge but I gather afterwards was hash. Plus picked 9 turtles. Customer service very good.

The store has a number of less expensive Christmas ornaments & decorations. We've visited a number of Christmas shops in the US & Europe but we found this one just ok.

I always try to visit Ten Thousand Villages stores when I am traveling. The stores have a variety of unique items - home decor, jewelry, gifts, food and more. Take time to read the tags on each item to see in which country they are made, and ask questions to learn more about the artisan group that made them. Beautiful, high quality items, all fairly traded.

Located on Newbury Street, this is a great place to buy a special book for someone. Their book selection is vast and staff is friendly and knowledgeable if you require any assistance. TB is also a good for gifts, gadgets, cards and taking a break in their cafe.

Whenever I visit the North End I always enjoy my visit to I am Books. I love to browse both the numerous selections of both Italian
and American offerings.. for young and old as well. Never once do I leave without a purchase whether it is a sports offering such as The Real Rocky’s, a Children’s take Strega Nona or personal memoirs such as “ Nobody Washes me, I’m Italian’” One will not regret the $ spent. I loved A City so Grand and Boston Italians. Indulge! They also have book talks and guest speakers. Hit their website. Read, Read,Read!

Every year I HAVE to make a visit which results in at least one return while in Boston because either I and/or friends eat everything purchased. Nothing is safe. There are Macaron Deli cookies brought in fresh from New York. Every flavor imaginable including seasonal changes. Foie Gras, caviar AND THE CHOCOLATE truffles. Yes, there are bars and bites and all matter of things chocolate on the shelves. But the best are the tiny, individual creations in the display. You can pick and choose to your heart's delight. And what usually happens is that after doing boxes I have to have a "bag" as I know none of us can wait.
