Ceramics here are among our enduring favorites, wooden items that are a great pleasure to see, fine (as well as charming and fanciful) furniture, and a wide variety of potential gift items to take away for friends...
It has a very nice (and large) selection of crafts from area artisans: ceramics, jewelry, wood products, textiles, paintings, furniture - way too much to list here.

I bought 3 different varieties, and I had a very hard time narrowing it down to which 3! This little shop has a lot to offer, and is a must-stop when in Downtown Asheville!
It sells honey, honey related products, beeswax candles, honey or bee themed jewelry and clothing etc.

It has the most amazing arts and crafts shops and the History Tours are a must !! Their artwork is just fabulous and I’m so glad that we found this place to browse in and get a few things .
Wonderful afternoon of strolling through the well appointed arts and crafts shop, antique car museum and historic surroundings (including the magnificent Grove Park Inn next door).

The demonstrations are interesting and the artists like to answer questions! Lots of art and collectible pieces for sale although the price points are a bit high for a memento piece.
Just off the city center the shop has demos going all day and you can buy a beer at the shop bar to sip while you watch them create a masterpiece in glass.

Located in the corner of a shopping arcade worth a visit in its own right for its lovely interior architecture, this is a unique watering hole and book store.
The high ceilings, bookcases, cozy furniture, rugs, upstairs, downstairs area, plus seating outside, make you feel like you are in your own private library.

Shelves are well stocked and there are great gifts for readers, writers and those with a great sense of humor and whimsy.. Yes, it's more expensive than ordering online, but having the 3-D experience of browsing t...
Malaprop’s is also on a picturesque street of shops, art stores, and restaurants (and the library) so makes a pleasant walk and shop experience.

Browse all artists, if there is a piece in which you are interested, just save it to your “collection,” and type the staff a note.
Nicely, there is artwork for sale at almost all price points, so one doesn’t have to be wealthy to find something to love and purchase.

The river art district is a great place to walk around to the galleries and pick up some local pottery, glassware jewelry and you can even watch it being made.
We spent time in the art district visiting many shops, galleries, breweries, restaurants and the Lexington Glassworks (twice).

There is the museum; but my favorite is the gift shop; they just have so many unique things; I always find something that is handmade and nice for a gift.
Beautifully simple storytelling and a great place to stock up on some thoughtful gifts!

Great meals (12 Bones), great drinks (The Wedge or the crucible) and a wonderful stroll through artists galleries, talking to the artists, watching them work and the opportunity to buy right there.
The prices were surprisingly reasonable and there are a lot of different kinds and styles of art available including jewelry, prints, oil paintings, clothing, glass, ceramics, pottery, sculpture.

Many vendors, often carrying some of the same items, but a fun place to browse and find something authentic to bring home from North Carolina
... our departure, we checked out of our hotel, ate breakfast at the nearby Waffle House, and proceeded to the Farmers Market, where we bought lots of fresh produce, honey and even plants at the garden store/nursery.

I love to visit Asheville to annually find just the right Jonas Gerard painting to add to our home!! Take a peek inside the gallery and open your heart to the depth of the emotions revealed in each painting!!!
This is a wonderful gallery in Asheville's River Art district.

What a great opportunity to see the work being done at Brian's shop (the How) and go to the studio to sit in several of these works of art and have the design explained (the Why).
Nicest man ever and plenty inventory to try out in his showroom.

This store is well organized and managed and is definitely worth a look around for shoppers who look for quality and great prices!
Nice selection of shops is a very nicely laid out mall, most of it is outside with a few awnings to provide shade.

It is in a small building and would be easy to miss (we had to double back because we missed it at first), but in that small building a fun and exciting treasure hunt awaits!
The shop owners were delightful to interact with; it's clear they're doing what they love and it makes the whole experience magical.

The end result was absolutely stunning and looks great in our home and more importantly reminds us of what a beautiful place we live in.
While visiting Asheville, we actually were just walking studio to studio a few years ago and found Stephen St. Clair.

The new Outpost brings a much needed Hands on and experiential global immersion hub to downtown Asheville.
Our tour guide, Reggiana, was knowledgeable and so fun to be around.

She gives you some history on this art form and lets you practice color combinations on paper before moving on to your silk scarf that you will be able to take home.
I also got to marble a beautiful silk scarf and was super happy with the results and all I was able to take home.

We live about 40 minutes from Asheville and stop by Asheville Gallery of Art whenever we are in downtown Asheville.
The Asheville Gallery of Art is one of my favorite galleries to browse while in Downtown Asheville.

I visited on Tuesday, toured many other art studios in Asheville, then came back on Wednesday and drove home happy with 6 pieces of Philip's beautiful art.
We have purchased several of Philip's paintings and have them displayed in both our home and our short term rental condos.
