We loved spending time watching the glassblowers work. How fun! And the variety/quality of artwork available for purchase was exceptional.

Very pretty area adjacent to Grove Park Inn. The “village” moniker is a little misleading as there is not a lot to see here. But the arts and crafts shop is exceptional (top quality crafts from all over the country) and the antique car museum is very interesting even if you’re not a big buff. The sculptures and grounds are also very nice.

I would definitely recommend spending some time in the River Arts District while you are in Asheville. I don't really understand Urban Art, but this was a way to begin to appreciate it.

A real authentic old fashioned ice cream soda fountain experience, plus an air-conditioned space full of neat art!

Such a treat to wander in and out of galleries full of paintings, sculpture and photography. Strong focus on local landscapes but so much more. Great place to indulge in fantasies of unlimited $$ and wall space for art.

This was one of our favorite art galleries. It's huge with 3 floors and many different mediums and styles.

The place is large with lots of interesting things. Some of the booths are insanely overpriced, while others reasonable. A lot of overlap in things in some of the booths. But there are a lot of unique booths to.

Went in November, so loved that this market was indoors. Plenty of meats, cheeses, fruits, and other foods to enjoy.

There were a few nice stores like Nike, Under Armour, etc. We had good shopping experiences there and got what we came for. Plenty of parking and the layout of the place was neat. We were disappointed that the "food court" was empty. Seems like a missed opportunity.

A most interesting collection. We had the pleasure of chatting with Stephen, a friend of Jonas. His description of the artist and his works was most enlightening.

This is more akin to a small museum, but totally fascinating. We saw the 2099 exhibit where craftspeople were tasked with imagining craft in a hundred years.

Fairly large, very clean and well organized shop. Lots of goodies to look at. The prices on most of the items we looked at were reasonable. Plan on spending at least an hour browsing through the aisles and booths. It's on our list to stop in again the next time we are in the area.

131 Main is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. We had the best steak dinner there we’ve had in a year. Quality, service, staff and chefs were all wonderful. We’ve been to this restaurant here as well as in Charlotte, and they are both wonderful. Clean and well appointed. As good as any upper end restaurant available.

This thrift shop is fun. Whether you find something there or not, it's fun to look. Clothes, household items and home decor items are all represented. I went to one of the estate sales in the back of the building and fell in love with a framed picture. I didn't buy it, and the next time it was still there. I still didn't buy it. And at the next estate sale I went to, it was gone. I felt bad, and after looking around the estate sale some more, I went back into the thrift shop. I looked up, and there was the picture, marked WAY down. Apparently if something does not sell in one of the every 2 week estate sales for a long time , it could end up in the thrift shop! Not everything, I'm sure, but it was such a find for me!. The place is nice and clean and has some very good things. Clothing, furniture even small appliances and linens. Frames, pictures, seasonal items, shoes, and handbags show up too.. I bought a very nice little cart for $5.00! Try this shop, you'll like it!
