- SuzanneDallas, TX319 contributionsSomewhat small parking area but relatively short walk to get a great photos at this stop and different views from around the nice trail. Must do!Written October 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 63impalaStoneham, MA1,627 contributionsThis is a great trail. Just understand that you will be on it for hours so pack accordingly. Take plenty of water with you. You will cross a small stream several times and some of the rocks you will have to scale to keep up with the trail. It isnt an overly strenuous trail but it is not all one level. Figure on a couple of hours in to see the arch and a couple back out to the parking lot.Written November 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 63impalaStoneham, MA1,627 contributionsThis is a nice little place about 20 minutes or so North of Moab. You can see many foot prints from the dinosaurs. There are many little kiosks around the trail telling you different things about the area and the history of it all. Worth the time to stop and check it out.Written November 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MXSCHWARZTampa, FL213 contributionsWasn't expecting this hike to start out a bit difficult but once you get to the meadow portion, what a view. The Joe Walsh song Meadows (I'm out here in the meadow, Part of an old stone wall...) starting going through my head as I walked along the flat portion. Did not go to the end (walked about two miles into the meadow) but probably my favorite hike of the week. Hidden gem if you like hiking.Written June 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul SCosta Mesa, CA1,568 contributionsWe were intending to hit up Arches National and noticed all these signs up and down 191 for various dinosaur track sites so we decided to cram in a few before heading over to Arches.
We hadn't planned this and didn't know what to expect so it was something of a pleasant surprise to be able to get up close and personal with some dino tracks. The drive in and hike to the site probably take up as much time as actually visiting the site but do take in the scenery. It's a beautiful location.
The drive in is via BLM 143, a graded dirt road that is fully navigable by standard passenger vehicles. You'll sort of do this big horseshoe drive on the east side of 191 and arrive at a parking area. Take a short hike up to the ridge to the track site.
We were there during mid-July and it was hot. Make sure to bring sunscreen, snacks and lots of water. If you have the time, make the stop to these various sites and, as mentioned, bring a camera as the scenery from the top of the ridgeline is pretty.Written November 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We would do it again.Written October 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mike McGann7 contributionsI am a mountain bike novice. After renting a bike we went to the Brand Trails to get some expereince before heading to DeadHorse State Park. I would suggest spending an hour here for other novices especially since it is on the way to Dead Horse.Written November 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Greg MCarrollton, TX3,023 contributionsThis hike was fun, and I reallly wanted to get up to Hunter Arch. The hike there was nice, but once we got closer to the arch, there was no clear route. My friend f codes to go on his own, and found a good way, but being stubborn I stayed on the main trail. I never found a good place to climb up where I felt safe to do it. Sad Face. Still took some good pictures, but I was disappointed about not getting up to the arch itself.Written August 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SLPmomOxnard, CA565 contributionsWe visited the Petroglyph area and just happened to come across the dinosaur tracks area and figured we might as well hike the Longbow Arch Trail. Hardly anyone on this trail at 4 pm on a Monday in April. We didn’t see any of the jeeps/vehicles someone else mentioned. This was a super fun hike, very different from all the ones we had done at the national parks. Climbing involved, then sand and the arch after quite a trek. Make sure you have the right shoes for the sand areas. I was quite tired and did not go all the way to check out the arch close up. Now I wish I would’ve ventured until the end as I see others have done. The route was well marked with green paint so you can follow along. If you’re up for the challenge go for it!Written April 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Diane D10 contributionsWe visited here twice during a weekend trip to Moab. I understand the frustration of some folks who heard birds but couldn't see them. We went mid to late afternoon and heard more birds than we saw, but we did see 18 species, including Blue Grosbeaks, Ash-throated Flycatchers, and Yellow-breasted Chats. Binoculars or a tele-photo lens are helpful, as the many of the birds were in the leaves near the tops of tall trees. Early morning is probably a better time to visit, as it would be a cooler and the birds might be more active. It's a lovely little area and would be nice for a walk even without birds.Written June 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shannon GWindham, NH133 contributionsOverall it’s about a 7 min hike to the top. Very steep going up! Wouldn’t recommend for anyone uneasy with heights or standing on ledges. Clear Dino tracks and petroglyphs at the top tho which was neat. Cool thing to do considering it was free.Written October 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 63impalaStoneham, MA1,627 contributionsI am surprised that no one has uploaded a photo of the Fisher Towers yet. This is a must drive to check this area out. The rock formations are awesome. You wont regret the drive!~Written November 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joanna BWest Valley City, UT84 contributionsThe Stairmaster Trail parallels the Moab Rim Jeep trail to the top of the ridge. It is .8 miles with 900 feet of elevation gain. Once at the top, you can continue on the Jeep trail if you want. This trail is all up, but the view at the top is worth it.Written July 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanna BWest Valley City, UT84 contributionsThe Portal Hike is 2 miles to the overlook, gaining 980 feet in elevation. It travels from river level, to high on the cliff edge. It's sandy and rocky and steep. Be sure to take plenty of water. Your hard work is paid off with an amazing view of the Moab Valley. Mountain bikers ride down this trail, so be aware!Written July 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
