- 63impalaStoneham, MA1,627 contributionsThis is a very worthwhile drive if you are in the Moab area. There are petroglyphs and cool rock formations and you drive right along the rock wall at some points. At the end you will need to turn around before entering the Potash plant near the railroad tracks. I suggest going in the morning and you will have the whole area to yourself!Written November 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoverPInverness, UK799 contributionsThis is a simply gorgeous road. Lovely views with the road following the Colorado River between towering sandstone cliffs. Then there is a more open landscape but very beautiful as well. At around the halfway point, the view looking West back down the road is very reminiscent of the iconic road view of Monument Valley. One of the most scenic roads in the States.Written September 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Todd BCincinnati, OH63 contributionsShort side trip along the Colorado river just north of Moab. Free. Just watch out for people pulling into the parking area while you’re scanning the rock walls. Our group of seven with ages ranging from 14 to 75 enjoyed this stop.Written June 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sq1944Queenstown, New Zealand21 contributionsWe took this road in the morning, when Arches NP was closed, and what a find. The paths to the overlooks to Canyonlands NP seemed brand new. - Catherine WChippenham, UK271 contributionsWe took this detour on our way from Moab to Mesa Verde. It was quite a long road 20 miles but it was well worth it the views in all directions were spectacular and there was hardly anyone there . We ate our breakfast on a picnic table and soaked up the amazing views in peace. Fantastic overlooks, so glad we went.Written June 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lauraly BUnited States41 contributionsLooking Glass Arch is an out-of-the-way arch. It is not a common stop as it is a bit of a drive along rough hard-packed road surface. Since it is not readily accessible it is quite possible you will be the only ones there. It is a beautiful arch and worth the stop.Written May 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- houstonnative47Missouri City, TX1,037 contributionsThis national scenic byway is a 512 mile drive if you were to drive it all. It covers part of western Colorado into eastern Utah. We drove from Rangely, CO to Fruita CO where we saw such interesting rock art. In Utah the only part we drove was Highway 128 which follows the Colorado River. What a fantastic drive! With each twist and turn of the road there are red rugged canyon walls and beautiful valleys with different shapes of rocks, spires and buttes. Well worth the drive!Written January 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rickb0109Fairfield, OH598 contributionsSeeing the rock art! Stunning! The drive along to this rock is amazing. You leave the paved road and go on gravel. Its a little down hill walk to the rock but not overly hard.Written September 21, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MikeJennyQOnalaska, WI962 contributionsVery cool to see the prints. Almost like you can follow them walking off of a cliff. Putting your foot next to one and taking picture is pretty cool. The drive up is long and very scenic. Is pretty high if you take the whole loop road around but see the whole area.Written January 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
