The very best entertainment for any age. Every time I travel to SF I find time to visit the Exploratorium because there is so much to do with my granddaughters and I could never finish exploring the hands-on science exhibits that enthrall all of us. Good for ALL ages. I cannot say enough about the learning that happens while you spend the day. There is even a cafe. Easily take a day or two or .... Great place! Nice people working there.

I was astounded by the wealth of knowledge and wonderful things that Walt Disney had left behind when I went there on vacation. Nearly all of his honors, including Oscars, were on exhibit, and a two-story museum showed off his early years. The Oscar for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was my favorite moment. adored the historical account.

Heading for BART, muni, ferry or Bus this is your place. Pickup your needs and head on out. Stop for coffee, wine, bread, cheese or many other items.
Check out farmers market on Saturday.
    Many changes since pandemic.
No more Slanted Door. You have to go to Napa or San Ramon.
    No longer Ferry to Sausalito.

Expensive. At $40 it is really costly for a family. There is lots to see and I understand the price because what they have takes a lot of upkeep. While the building is handicap accessible, the rain forest is not. Unfortunately, you cannot start at the top and work your way down.

It was an old factory that was transformed into a commercial center. It hosts some businesses, but also, stores, and cafes and one of the biggest cafes is the Ghirardelli where you can buy chocolate at great prices. They also sell ice cream

If you enjoy modern art museums, don't miss this one! The building is expansive and filled with natural light. The unexpectedly broad collection is fun, interesting and very well-curated. WIth only a few free hours, we weren't able to participate in any of the great programming on offer, or snack at the beautiful rooftop cafe, but we did make sure to swing by the wonderful museum store.

This place is a lot of fun. What an amazing collection of old games, all very much in working order. You play with quarters and most games are $.25.

I was in the area visiting the Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Garden and the Academy of the Sciences across the street and came to de Young's to get a bite to eat and use the restroom. I ate outside by the sculpture garden which you can enjoy without an admission ticket. Also, taking the elevator up to the observation deck is FREE, which I highly recommend, especially if it's a clear day. The views are spectacular and the fact that it's free is a bonus! You can also use the restrooms as well (without an admission ticket). If you're in the area, it's definitely worth swinging by to go up the observation deck.

Consistently the best theater in the Bay Area and maybe in the country (I started going to theater in New York when I was kid). SFPlayhouse consistently has beautifully staged and well-cast productions of unmatched energy, intelligence and empathy. And the small (200 seat) auditorium makes for impact and intimacy. Not just an evening's entertainment but an experience that resonantes for a long time.

As a requirement for our daughter’s Art class, we chose to visit the Asian Art Museum in time of the opening of the Murakami Exhibit and it was such a wonderful experience.

This aquarium was a lot small than we anticipated. The walk through tunnel was excellent, as was everything on display. It was small compared to others we had been to. I would have been disappointed if we paid full price; however, we had entrance on a pass. Don't expect to spend too long here.

Little over priced. But pretty neat if you’ve never been in a submarine. Your is self guided/ on your phone. If you have mobility issues this is not the place for you.
