What travelers are saying
- Laurie PVictoria, Canada2 contributionsWe went on the night tour and it was fabulous. We had one person using a cane, so she got to ride on the small bus to the top. ALL the tour people were great!! I would recommend it to anybody! Our cruise ship was a bit late getting in and they held the boat for us, I can't say enough. Thanks so much!Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- gino_o@hotmail.com65 contributionsNice place, nice shops and restaurants. It's a shame about the many drug addicts and homeless people hanging around there.Written November 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sergei PT600 contributionsLots to do in the Golden Gate Park, right next to the Golden Gate Bridge and options of restaurants and shops.
You can choose to go to the Science Museum, the Botanical Garden, Japanese Garden, among others. Really nice place.

A picturesque walkable national park area that's full of so much history.
Remnants of some of the buildings of Adolph Sutro's legacy remains which you can still appreciate.
Do remember to visit the National Park office where you can learn about the unique landscape, geology, habitats, foliage and fauna of the area as well as about the shipwrecks offshore.
There are cool memorabilia on display and artifacts from the Victorian-era Cliff House and baths.
You can easily spend 2 hours here walking the coastal trail and taking in the amazing views! Enjoy!Written September 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Every section could be photographed from multiple angles and every photo would be great. Some extra pretty sections. Worth visiting. The Tea House itself was very pleasant, with friendly staff and delicious offerings. Highly recommend.Written November 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Culture717503Yuba City, CA8 contributionsActually the most beautiful and all-around most enjoyable beach in San Francisco proper! If you, you and your friends, you and your family want a fun day at the beach that is generally never as windy and brisk as Ocean Beach, this is your beach.
Yes there is a nude area. If that’s not your style, don’t wander toward the bridge. You’ll love it here.Written November 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A former military base, it has character and is truly beautiful!
It has a very special vibe indeed - an amalgam of the forests, beaches, park areas, quaint homes and the golf course.
Lucas studios is here as well as the Walt Disney Family museum and the SF National cemetery.

And the great BayTrail is bit by bit growing to surround the Bay with trails for walking and biking. All around places to eat and view and a real pleasure.Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ElvisAndrusArlington, TX916 contributionsI like urban parks, lots of and up and down. Good for people watching and listening now that people forget others are around when they are on their cellphone. I wouldn’t go just for the painted ladies, overhype.Written May 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - xcschlrMilwaukee, WI925 contributionsI lived in S.F. for two years a long time ago and visited the Golden Gate Park multiple times, but I never spent much time in the Botanical Garden. Seeing the differences in plants across the continents of the world is quite interesting to me, although I didn’t find any plants to be truly unusual in size, shape or color.Written November 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guide61351524825San Francisco, CA49 contributionsCrissy Field is a top venue for taking family, engagement, and individual photos in San Francisco as it provides the perfect backdrop of the city skyline, Alcatraz, and of course the Golden Gate Bridge.Written July 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CRLFWeymouth, MA27 contributionsThis is a beautiful place with amazing views. It's also a sobering place in our country's immigration history. I appreciated the chance to experience both sides of Angel Island. The ferry trip from Tiburon was only 15 minutes and provided a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the fog. It is about a 30 minute walk / climb (1.3 miles one way) from the dock to the area with the Barracks Museum and the Immigration Station Museum. Immigrants were held in the barracks for weeks or months in crowded rooms, where they carved emotional poems in Chinese into the walls. The exhibits provide a lot of information about discrimination against Asian immigrants. The building has only been preserved versus restored, so it felt authentic and you can really imagine the conditions faced by the immigrants. If coming from Tiburon, note that you'll have to park in one of the public lots in town for at least $5 and allow extra time to walk to the dock. We took the 11:00 ferry there and the 1:20 ferry back, which wasn't enough time to see both museums. I'd recommend taking the 10:00 instead.Written September 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tall NickThe Hague, The Netherlands314 contributionsThe beach at Ocean Front San Francisco is even in October nice … if the weather is nice.
Today is such a day and therefore it was a pleasure to go to this beach. Do not expect facilities… there are none. Just a basic beach.Written October 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It offers plenty of open space for dogs to run and play, making it a favorite for pet owners.
Families will appreciate the well-maintained playground, which is great for kids.
On clear days, the park provides stunning views of the city skyline, offering a perfect backdrop for picnics, relaxing, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Whether you’re there for a casual stroll, a game of frisbee, or to take in the beautiful surroundings,
Dolores Park is a vibrant and welcoming destination.Written November 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The walk through tunnel was excellent, as was everything on display. It was small compared to others we had been to. I would have been disappointed if we paid full price; however, we had entrance on a pass. Don't expect to spend too long here.Written August 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
