This was my first time at a comedy place. I walked past it on my way to a restaurant and thought I'd visit it afterwards.
Upon entry I immediately enjoyed the ambiance. Small, private, basement bar that was OK and full of young people. I asked the guy who was selling tickets (who ended up being Scott Simpson) about what the law of the land was and once I was told I could sip a drink inside the theatre as the show went on, I was sold and bought the ticket.
The bar was small, and there was only one bartender for a lot of people which meant long wait times. However, I'll say the bartender was an artisan of drinks and prepared mine with patience and care. It tasted great and I ended up getting 2 more after that one.
I appreciated the fact that Scott saved me a seat next to the door after hearing that I would be coming out to get more drinks as the show went on.
I don't really feel prepared or knowledgeable enough on the art of comedy to comment on its quality, but I laughed and had a good time, which is what I was going for. I really liked Jon's style and found Scott's stories highly relatable and very funny.
