Kaanapali Beach is the most beautiful in the world.I have explored beaches almost throughout the world and have found none better. The sands are beautiful and the sunsets are gorgeous. Taking a cruise offers breathtaking rainbows and a chance to outrun porpoises or watching whales in the winter. It is always fun simply to see an occasional storm blanketing the high mountain ranges in the mornings or evenings. Amazingly there are no trash or litter. God help you if you are caught littering. No one does however. I’m also amazing that though there are crowds, it’s never crowded. Solitude is available everywhere. Come watch the Black Rock diver jump from Black Rock located directly behind the Sheraton Hotel. Have a romantic dinner at the Hula Grill or Monkepod. Shopping at whalers Village is fun, especially during the early evenings,

A stunning and easy coastal walk with plethora of picture perfect postcard views across a range of different types of terrain. We went during the evening for sunset and there were a number of people with photographers getting professional photographs taken. One of our favourite activities on our day trip to West Maui.

A beautiful and peaceful courtyard, nice and cool due to the shade provided by the Banyan tree. The tree has to be seen to be believed - it’s so unusual how the branches bend down and become new trunks, creating a sprawling network. Lots of benches to sit on in the area.

A great beach for snorkeling or just relaxing and taking in the beautiful views. This beach is not as busy as some of the larger beaches. (a great place to find sea turtles)

HIGHLY recommend. This tour had beautiful views and was so informative. Learned so much about the coconut and the taste testing wasn’t bad either 😁. We had 6 in our party ranging from 79 to 14 years old. Everyone had a good time and learned something.

Great fun and good food. Cute shops coming back from Covid crisis. Clean and east to walk back to many hotels along the beach walk. Maybe 8 to 10 minutes for most.

Incredibly calm waters with ample coral areas, perfect for snorkelling in. We went to many of the beaches in Maui looking for snorkelling spots and this was one of the best for beginners like us to try out snorkelling without worrying about the waves. Would be a good beach for children to swim as the waters are so calm.

One of the best all round beaches on West Maui with ample free parking and good facilities for both resort guests and the public. We didn’t try snorkelling but felt safe swimming in the waters

We stumbled on this trail looking for the blowhole since we stopped at the first parking area and was so glad we did. There are actually two blowholes. Climbing over the lava was fun but some might find it difficult. We are fairly athletic.

This is a super fun activity for families with kids. Farmer Heidi loves what she does and her joy is contagious. The kids got to hold, pet, and feed so many animals. It was truly interactive, fun, and educational. A must do when the littles need a break from the beach.

I entered the parking lot on the west entrance, off highway 30.
Started the hike around 6:00 am to avoid the heat and strong sun.
The Lahaina Pali trail has no shade but the view from the top is well worth it.
On another day, I started the hike from the East entrance.
Google maps has a marker on the entrance off highway 30 named Maui Demolition, near highway 310.

Amazing beach at the beginning of the road to Hana. It doesn’t get too packed, but you have to get there early or be lucky enough to find a parking!

We absolutely love this loop trail. It is much prettier if you do the loop counter clockwise than if you do it clockwise.

We visited this church during a mass on Saturday at 5:30pm. It was lovely and the choir was outstanding. Just know that there is no A/C. They do have the windows and doors open but at the time that we went, there was no breeze. This isn't to deter your visit, just to make you aware. Thank you to Maria Lanakila Catholic Church for welcoming us.

Besides being known as the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the Lahaina Harbor was a destination for whaling fleets back in the day. A cannon near the pier is a reminder of the conflicts that existed between the sailors and the Christian missionaries in the 19th century. In contrast, today it serves as the place to begin snorkel, dive, whale watching, fishing, and sightseeing tours. The grounds of the rebuilt Lahaina Lighthouse are open to the public but not the lighthouse itself. From the harbor, you can walk to Front Street where you will find restaurants, bars, tourist and other shops. If you are into history (or not), you can download a map and brochure of its historic walking tour. Across from the harbor is the Old Court House, which has a visitor’s center and museum, and a portion of the Old Fort, once a jail for unruly sailors. Further down on Front Street is Banyan Tree Park, home to the largest Banyan Tree in the United States. Both places are a “must see/do” when your travels bring you to Maui.
