Interesting museum on America's most decorated flying ace. Very informative and an easy way to see and learn about a local legend.

We had a wonderful tour of this gorgeous house. Our tour guide was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in answering all our questions. (And we had a lot for her!) I would recommend including this house on any visit to Duluth/Superior. You learn about the history of this area as well as the house and owners.

Did the tour today. Was amazed at the history of the whalebacks and this particular ship. Had an amazing tour guide who is a retired engineer, forgot his name but he rides the 2013 Honda CBC1100. Amazed by the steam engine and how it is maintained when it was in service. Definitely worth the stop.

A beach on the Wisconsin side of the Twin Ports area on the shore of Lake Superior. There is a small-ish parking lot and a short little walk to get to the beach. No admission. You can find a spot to hang all day and build sandcastles, or you can walk the beach for miles. Lots of driftwood! Plan on a breeze and some beautiful views!

Had a blast. Tubing was great. Go early, can get busy and lines aren’t fun. Workers were great, awesome set up.

The ice caves are only accessible with the right winter/ice conditions. When they are accessible they are an absolutely spectacular sight. Unique. I believe the conditions and access availability are updated frequently on the Apostle Islands park website. If they're open it is not to be missed. Caution: you'll need to be dressed for the weather and using appropriate footwear is essential. Friction/ice footwear such as "micro spikes" or yak trax make the walk much more enjoyable.

This is a very interesting museum if you are a fan of music and accordions. It’s amazing to see the history of this instrument from all places all over the world. There’s over 1300 accordions plus, plus soooo many other things related to the accordion. Helmi was a lovely guide and was passionate about the museum. Be prepared to spend some time there because there’s lots to see and read. The dogs were cute too!

Fantastic bartender told us about upcoming shows and gave us many beers to try. We especially liked the IPAs, stouts and a coffee ale. Can’t wait to come back in warm months for concerts in the beer garden!

The Estuarium is very well done--well thought-out and designed. A lot of quality information and visuals packed into a relatively small space. Loved the massive map of the estuary and watershed on the floor. Hard to believe I've lived in the Superior area most of my 57 years not having known about the ecological importance of the confluence of St. Louis River waters (and other rivers and streams) into the bays of the Duluth/Superior harbor and eventually to the big lake! Some nice history going on here too. The interns were also friendly and informative.

Glad we stopped to shop. Expect to find high end knives, cutting boards, luggage and cooking utensils at greatly reduced prices. A great stop for anyone who enjoys cooking.

We drove from Kansas, stayed 2 nights hoping to see the Northern Lights. It was interesting that the people that live in the area, are not interested or have never seen them 💯‼️Had a delicious Walleye dinner at Grizzlies restaurant.
We did visit Pattinson State Park and saw the waterfalls. Beautiful part of the country. We’ve always gone north to Michigan, Upper peninsula. Wisconsin to cheese factories, Lake Michigan German town etc. Absolutely beautiful part of the country and we will be back💯🙏

If you have interest in fire and police departments, then this free (donations accepted) museum is the place for you. It is two levels with stairs, so is not easily accessed for some, but if you are able, it is an education venue to stop. There are old fire trucks, fire department items, and a Hall of Fame for fallen officers. When we visited the younger person on site wasn't very knowledgeable, so it would be nice to get someone to volunteer that could answer general questions.
It is self guided and doesn't take more than an hour to go through.

Especially like driving across this bridge at night and see the lights of the city on the hillside. Close views of ships on superior side, and of the lake and park point from a birds eye view
Daytime views of city, lake, park point and ships.

Keep your eyes on the road though. It’s a 60s bridge, so not much extra space. Sorry driver, be a passenger next time so you can catch the views too!
