- Kat R3 contributionsI have visited and supported many such wild cat rescue centers in the western United States - definitely not a "zoo" - and this may be the best. Cats are well cared for, both physically (with a varied diet, heated shelters, etc.) and mentally, each with a variety of things to do and places to be. Caretakers interact with the cats, but also respect the privacy of those cats who do not wish to interact; caretakers are not overly familiar which, unfortunately, has proven to be disadvantageous at other rescue centers. Caretakers are knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge.
Its a shame we need rescue centers but this one is good for both the animals and the visitors. Highly recommended.Written March 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jenna NandEdmonds, WA4 contributionsI have gone camping ever since I was a little girl, with the Girl Scouts, my family, in college, etc. and this is by far the best camping experience of my life. Jarrell Cove and Harstine Island are gorgeous. We had kayaks delivered by Hood Canal Rentals and spent our days kayaking and hiking around the natural beauty.
Our camp hosts, who are volunteer rangers, were lovely people. Glenn and his wife brought us blackberry leaves from the bushes and checked on us every evening. They ensured that the camp grounds clean, well run, and safe for families. I felt safe camping there as a woman.
The facilities are great. The bathroom is clean with flush toilets and a hot shower. The campsites are well spaced, and the entire scenery is beautiful. My favorite memory is a feeding a Mama Deer and her little fawn apples from the apple trees that grow on the campground.
This place is like heaven on earth and I am going to try to go back every year, if possible.Written October 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Louise MCastle Rock, CO3,297 contributionsPlaying slots at a casino is a fun way to spend an hour or two. We aren't inclined to spend a day doing it; either you win or you lose, but if you stay long enough, you will probably walk out a loser. Both times we went, my husband won and I lost, but since he bets more than me, we came out ahead.
I didn't find many of the machines I am familiar with, some old and some new, but I don't enjoy having to learn all new machines because that's when I usually lose. So we may come back again, but don't have a burning desire to do so.Written December 21, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - EngstromDanSeattle, WA12 contributionsThis place is a peaceful gem of what remains of a once Pacific Northwest past! The setting is incredibly beautiful with small inlets for dinghy exploration. We met Lorna who along with her husband had owned this marina since 1980! She was a spunky straight shooter but reminded me of a hippie homesteader type spirit. We stayed at their dock, water, fuel and electricity available. There is a small store with limited supplies. Clean restrooms and showers available and three RV spots. The atmosphere and friendliness we make this spot a return voyage someday. Resort closes after Labor Day.Written August 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lori LOlympia, WA46 contributionsOff the beaten path you will find this great winery! Quaint, friendly and fabulous wines. The owner was pouring and handling the small crowd of people who all arrived at once. Outdoor sitting area is quite and relaxing. Don't miss this gem!Written June 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- maria kBuckley, WA234 contributionsThis whole island is a great experience. There are beautiful beaches, there is a nice little farmers market where you can buy fresh bread and many other items. Overall a really nice visit when you just want to get away for a day.Written October 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Colleen NBoise, ID1,074 contributionsWith this park, it's all about location. The picnic area, on the Canal side of the road, is right on the water and offers incredible views. The campground is across the highway, set in a treed area, but, like most Washington State Park Campgrounds, the facilities are a bit dated and spaces are tight, especially for some of the large rigs people tend to use today.
There's not a lot to do in the area other than water activities, but it is a beautiful setting.Written September 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - OMAR MLas Vegas, NV28 contributionsthis is a small museum, but worth the visit. lots of historial things. i learn alot about mason country and shelton. people are vey friendly and helpful. its worth the visit to learn alot. omarWritten June 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- pmspiroDurham, NC74 contributionsThis was a whole lot of fun! My wife and I (both in our sixties) were able to get a reservation as it's quite a popular attraction these days. We were a little disappointed everyone got pushed back up the hill rather than pedal but we were running a little late because some old geezer (me) dropped his cell phone and we had to wait for the guide to run back and find it. WHICH HE DID!Written September 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DickfromSeattleSeattle, WA152 contributionsExcellent course, but quite difficult. Missed fairway=lost ball. Lots of elevation changes, trees, forced carries plus four or five water hazards. Very fluffy sand makes the bunkers extremely tough. Greens fast but fair and the breaks are very deceiving. Good shots are generally rewarded, but bad shots are punished severely. I birdied the first hole, yet still shot my worst score in decades, but still enjoyed the round. Conditioning is excellent. Cart and range balls are included in the greens fees. Friendly staff. Restaurant is so-so. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.Written June 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mikeo5547Lewiston, ID51 contributionsI was visiting in the area, near Mason Lake, and asked where I could get some good fresh oysters, on my way home to Portland. I got their name, and was delighted to get 2 different kinds of oysters at a good price, and they were delicious. Will probably stop there again, next time I'm in the areaWritten February 4, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MaxtrapSeattle, WA190 contributionsSo, having a GSXR-1100 (fast motorcycle) and the confidence of Wings of Gold gives one all the ingredients to make an underdone “Interstate Burger”. The Ridge and it’s cadre of professional instructors is the antidote. Nothing worse than aggressively acting with undeserved confidence. Underestimating your opponent, if you will. Second worse is having the tools to win, but being ignorant of the availability and proper use of those tools. The Ridge is the place to come and fill the knowledge gap that could very well save your life or the life of your “bulletproof” kid.
It is also a great place to have fun with friends and family that ride. OPRT, TrackTime, MotoVixens, and others host track days. California Super Bike, Team Yamaha, and WMST all run classes from there. The hosts will all have instructors available as well. The lethal distracted are the majority. If you are on two wheels, get trained to counter the threat. Highly recommended!Written October 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Todd FShelton, WA31 contributionsTreat yourself and family and go kick back a few years in time and enjoy a couple movies while camping in the back of your pickup truck. Get yourself a blow up mattress and plenty of blankets and pillows and enjoy the show.
The snack bar is fairly plain but the prices are better than the indoor theaters around here. Plus if you're a smoker you're already outside so who cares.
We take an extra battery powered radio just to make sure everyone hears the audio.
I've been going to the Skyline since I can remember and we should support this landmark. There's not very many Drive-ins left in our country and it would be sad to see them all go under. But we can keep ours if you patronize this long lived establishment that for so long has been part of our Shelton. It's a real Family Friendly place and a great way to spend a weekend night.Written September 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Russ HShelton, WA14 contributionsWe've been to a number of concerts and car auctions at the Event Center. The acoustics are good, seats are close and there is plenty of parking near the center.Written August 22, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
