This is probably one of the most tranquil spots in God's country - Stopped here by chance with the Mrs on a little R&R trip - Owner and staff were Pleasant and Helpful with selections - A little tricky getting there but well worth the effort - Views on the upper deck were fantastic - Be sure to stop by here you will not be disappointed

This site was listed in several brochures for things to do in and around Woodstock, VA. Honestly, it didn't sound all that interesting on paper, but thankfully our B&B host recommended it for our itinerary. It was a fairly easy drive to get there, but as others have written---keep your wits when navigating the hairpin turns. Nothing too dramatic, but be aware of the road conditions.

It's a short walk from the parking area to the tower. It's not a huge tower so climbing the metal structure is doable for most people. On higher traffic days you'll have to be patient as others go up, and come down.

Enjoy the great 360 view. This is where you want to try out the panoramic feature on your phone camera. Our favorite overlook is still Storybook Trail not far away, but this one provided some excellent photo ops.

We found this while in the area and in between activities with our kids (11-13 YO). It was clean and looked fairly new. It even had rest rooms that were open. The kids enjoyed the Jungle gym and the neat saucer swing (sort of like a tire swing). The Playground is handicap accessible. We did not use the Pool or tennis courts.

My bride and I stopped here on our way to DC. We thoroughly enjoyed. The building is a small restored factory with beautiful floors and plenty of light. It is located just off Main Street (Route 11). We sat at the bar, but there are multiple tables and outdoor seating. Our flight was only average, but definitely merits more serious "study." The service was a touch slow, but the bartender was friendly and attentive. My wife really enjoyed her tacos. I would definitely return.

I first started shopping at Mowery Orchard many years ago when it was a tiny space with a dirt floor and room enough for maybe just a few people. We have watched it grow to what it is today. It is filled with fresh local fruits and vegetables, local cheeses and meats, fresh eggs, honey, jams and jellies. Recently they have added a great assortment of dry goods and candies. Not to be forgotten is the large assortment of plants for vegetable flower gardens and hanging baskets and pots full of flowers to enjoy from now through the fall. A must stop whether you are local or visiting our beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Walked the Eagle Edge Trail . Some of the signage was confusing but we figured it out. Interesting Interpretive panels on the history of Camp Lupton.

It is a small gallery of local art. There are some really nice pieces of art and tons of small postcard works. The owner is nice and very genuine. The animal art is wonderful and there are some haunting photo pieces. I will definitely return!

We have three courthouses in Shenandoah County.

1- Built about 1795 The Historic Shenandoah County Courthouse is a stone structure on main street. It is the oldest operating courthouse west of the Blue Ridge Mountains . It now houses a museum and only an actual court case a few times a year in order to abide by the terms of the original land owners.

2- The second courthouse is the one we are reviewing. It is on the same side of the street and is connected to the old Shenandoah County jail. It houses our records and is the location to go for permits. Juvenile and Domestic court is held there. However most proceedings are now at our newest courthouse #3.

3-Shenandoah County Circuit Court is on 112 South Main Street which is behind the Shenandoah County Government Center and not really visible from Main Street. It is on a "bypass" and many newcomers and even residents have trouble finding it. Find the shopping center and coming from the other court houses you will take a right onto the "tower road." It can be seen from the back parking lot of the government center but the parking lots are not connected. This is the most popular court for those getting traffic or criminal tickets. Save yourself the trouble and just be good!

My husband and I were passing some time and even though we a re locals, we enjoyed it very much. As you view the items, stories are told and it is really nice to have such a nice presentation of history for our area. Thank you to the many volunteers that make it possible!

We welcome those traveling through the area and those currently looking for a new church.

We have a traditional service at 11:00 with Sunday Sunday before and a fellowship time with food after the service.

During the summer months June- July-August we only have the Sunday service and it is moved to 10am to beat the heat.

It is a lovely church, very ornate inside with a balcony. Members are quick to offer a hello and you will find a variety of cultures.

Our fellowship hall is new and like the rest of the building it has air conditioning.

Loved this hike and the view/setting at the top was amazing. We were very lucky to have hiked on a Tuesday and only passed one other person the entire time. Having the incredible view at the top all to ourselves, we sat up there for an hour or so. Good hike, well marked, moderate in difficulty.

This little shop has a tremendous array of hand made folk art - I have followed up with the proprietor who makes a lot of the items and am arranging a future purchase.
Highly recommend you stop for gas here and check out the shop and the friendly reception.

Phlopsey's Boutique for Vintage Divas is hawg heaven for folks who love thrift stores. The place sprawls and it's full of delights such as a whole rack of Chico's clothing, jewelry, furniture, acres of beaded and sequined clothing--a cacophony of brilliant color and stuff, stuff, stuff! Roomfuls of stuff!! The proprietress is full of enthusiasm and is glad to take time to chat. She also is open to negotiation. Prices are reasonable. I got a fur muff, outrageous sequined cap and a bracelet for a total of $60. Reenactors will love her selection of vintage clothing.
