- triliumsummerMountain City, TN102 contributionsAs soon as I got out of the car, the first thing that I seen was an eagle. I knew this was going to be a great visit. Staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the glass blowing as well.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sheena PHilton Head, SC28 contributionsGreat hiking and the boat rental to go on the lake was fun too! If you are in Williamsburg and looking for something to do other than visit historic sites, highly recommend.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ksrichLinwood, KS402 contributionsWe went for the morning hike. Lots of trails, just be careful of the bikes. The lady in the information house was very knowledgeable and helpful. We went to the gardens, then to the 3 buildings for the three slaves the owner had freed and built houses for. It was well done, and very interesting.Written September 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Victor FWashington DC, DC95 contributionsThe playground is beautifully designed for kids of all ages. The pirate ship has a lot of slides, plus areas to explore and several mini-climbing opportunities. And there is a toddler area, separate from the bigger kids area. There are both regular and tire swings, plus a few nice benches for parents to just sit and watch. We do recommend some parental supervision for the Zipline and the giant 7-ft Climbing Rock Slide--- But other than that, the place seems very safe. Also there are open fields and a few covered picnic areas (and clean bathrooms) for families.Written October 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DannyWassermanVirginia Beach, VA4,242 contributionsWe loved this area. The river is so surreal and you will love the different areas to relax and take in the beaches and places to fish / swim / or boat.Written September 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CritiquenessYorktown, VA785 contributionsLarge, clean, well maintained & managed (except for the park office). Every time that I have called (during posted operational hours), I have never spoken to a live person to answer questions and only once was a phone call returned. I was surprised that the children's playground equipment wasn't more varied, but other than that , so many things are offered: hiking/biking trails, picnic shelter w/grill, restrooms, horseshoes, basketball/volleyball court, softball field, canoe/kayack launch, disc golf, leashed dog walking, some evening programs, etc. One of the best individual or family event is held every 2nd Friday from 10-noon at the park office, where you can participate in an archeological relic wash. Fun and educational on local history.Written May 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jodi H100 contributionsI really don’t understand why this is called Redoubt. We went and it started to rain so we really didn’t get very far down the pathway. However it was a well kept area with historical signage. It was a nice walk for the part we did and definitely not crowded.Written October 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura BRoanoke, VA212 contributionsSpent the afternoon at this VA State park. Paid $5.00 to park. Bathrooms, playgrounds, picnic shelters, visitors center all open to public during these COVID times. Saw osprey nest. Walked trail to fossil beach, 1.2 mile walk down and back. Wear good walking shoes for hilly terrain. Freshwater fishing pond available with license. Shells found on beach, be sure to coordinate visit with tide schedule. Tons of driftwood to climb over on the beach. Noted other walking trails and horse trails. Beautiful place. Close to Williamsburg.Written April 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kimberdny11Pigeon Forge, TN121 contributionsAs mentioned by others, the eco park is no more and is now ran by James City; now this being said it is still a great place to go. Plenty of parking and the staff are very helpful and kind. At the moment they rent bikes for the trails, tandem kayaks, single kayaks, and canoes. All safety equipment provided. The price was reasonable for two kayaks at $38. The water ways are plentiful. Once in your selection of water utility, take a left out of the channel for a smooth lazy river or on your right try the open water. Now the cool part is the two breweries which share the property. So, after a nice jot on the water take a breather at the breweries which a nice view of the waterway. - Dave IWestover, MD947 contributionsI wanted to do some walking, but the park is small and has no walking trails but it is still a nice park. The park has plenty of parking, no restrooms or picnic tables. The little pier is sturdy, but the water is very muddy looking.Written July 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
