What travelers are saying
- Melinda R12 contributionsWe had a great time playing in the water and collecting seashells. We went to the Neptune Festival, and the boardwalk was filled with a variety of vendors and food.Written October 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - daniel t3 contributionsIf you want to avoid the crowds, go to Sandbridge. Easy to get to, only 15 miles South of VB. Large paved lot, clean restrooms and changing rooms, playground for the kids and picnic shelters as well. Beautiful, uncrowded beaches and a great view. Not surrounded by hotels and tourist shops. Be aware though, they do charge for parking and even if the booth is unattended, you're still required to get a parking permit at the kiosk through the end of September even though there's no signage to indicate this. We had parked here free after Labor day previously with no issues, but apparently it has changed. I guess that's one way to prey on out-of-town visitors. But it's still a wonderful beach and I'll go back in the future.Written September 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EricaSDNorthampton, MA19 contributionsA wonderful stop for the afternoon! great selection of sea life, nice large viewing areas too. Also enjoyed the outdoor walking area to see the marsh. Not too crowded, online ticketing was a bit cumbersome but doable. Fun for all ages. If I lived nearby I would definitely have a membership and be there all the time!Written September 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Court127 contributionsWe found First Landing State Park on a Google search and it saved out trip to VA Beach. We only went to the beach, but had a great time. There is parking on both sides of the street, so lots of parking. You may just have a walk some. Fee is $10 per vehicle. There are lovely nature trails to get you to were you need to be. All adequately marked. Lovely scenery, helpful people, safe, and you can bring dog to the beach year round all day, unlike VA beaches themselves. Wish I would have known that while my pooch was stuck in the hotel. Anyway, water is calm and shallow. Great for anyone wanting to chill, relax, eat, drink, and enjoy the day by the water. I saw campsites, but didn't stay so can't speak on it.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff is super nice. The food was so good. My daughter and I had the sword fish. Melted in your mouth. Veery good. My daughter-in-law had a lobster tail and she said it was sweet tender and juicy. My son can't have shellfish, so he had a burger with all the fixings. After we filled our bellies, we went outside to listen to the music. I would have loved to stay longer but everyone wanted to leave. They were playing my type of music...60's! We did have a nice time at Chix.Written September 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- vegetarian-girlAustin, TX541 contributionsWe picked Saturday because there were more events on the calendar, including the ESP Demo. Only 4 people attended, it was interesting & fun. We also did the tour. Liked that very much too. We had delicious vegan & gluten free cookies in the cafe. The staff were all very nice.Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Angela BTempe, AZ1,601 contributionsOne of Virginia Beach's popular parks. There's a playground, another large kids playground, a couple of large covered picnic areas, a roundabout path for walkers and a mini pier for fishing.
