- Cynthia H1 contributionWe thoroughly enjoyed touring this house with Joyce Jones. She was very knowledgeable and we learned so many interesting things. I highly recommend this tour!Written March 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lisa F2 contributionsWe had been here before, about 10 years ago. Obviously, much the same, but did add some new boardwalks, I believe. Would like perhaps one more porta-potty at Lake Drummond as the trail head is the only place that we saw one on that trail unless I missed it.Written April 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellen O13 contributionsWe stayed overnight in Suffolk and dashed into this charming museum on our way out of town. It's definitely worth a stop. Learning about the town's history, especially in relation to Planter"s Peanuts, was fascinating. Kudos to the townsfolk who decided to keep the station in it's almost new condition. Going up to the watch tower on a floating staircase was very fun.Written February 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RobSquared2 contributionsWe came out to go camping for a little weekend get-away. We decided to go see the Suffolk Visitors Center to see what was going on around the town. This is where we found out about all the options we had for entertainment. We chose to do two tours while we were here. First one was the Cedar Hill Cemetery Tour and then it was the evening Ghost Tour. The tours themselves were awesome. The guide (Kevin) was the best tour guide we have ever seen. We have learned so much about Suffolk and we really enjoyed ourselves. We are coming back in a few months with my parents to show them.Written March 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cheryl hDurham, NC57,490 contributionsThis was by far, the best golf experience of the courses I played in the Virginia Beach area. Tom Doak did a masterful job designing the layout. Check in was a breeze and the folks in the clubhouse and the 19th hole were great.
The driving range was closed due to the wet weather but the putting and chipping greens were open and great. The layout winds through wetlands by the river with an occasional large houses off to the sides and out of play. The bunkering is top notch with beautiful shapes surrounding the greens and along many of the fairways.
Due to the recent heavy rains, many of the bunkers had standing water. Some of the tees were rough due to the winter but other than that the course was in great shape, including excellent cart paths. There were several scenic forced carries over water and wetlands, which I found very intimidating but I did okay. The greens were awesome, not too fast but challenging with many tiers, ridges, and run offs.Written July 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
