What travelers are saying
- Shane GNorth Carolina766 contributionsThis was truly an enjoyable experience. This battleship is situated on the wharf at Norfolk, Virginia. It’s a must see and one would need - at least - several hours to tour the entire ship. It features audio recording throughout. Nearby down the boardwalk there is a large seafood dining area with a bar also. Plenty of images posted with this review. Check them out.Written January 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Heather BNorwich, CT559 contributionsOh wow! Let me start by saying OH WOW!!! This is a magical place. It's vast, the property seems never-ending. Every corner you turn there is more magic. Whoever laid this place out did it in perfect harmony. The statues were an outstanding addition. I learned so much about fauna in my walk through the gardens. There are fountains and little pieces of beauty every where you look. I don't know all the things I saw, I just know that as I walked through there, I was at peace, if not a little giddy over how great being there at that moment in time- made me feel.Written January 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sharrongegHenderson, NV3,865 contributionsBeautiful, FREE art museum. We only had time to tour the bottom floor. Really enjoyed the “Farm to Table” exhibit of French art. The modern glass exhibit was also beautiful. Hope to return tomorrow to view the rest.
Highly recommend. Also appreciated the free parking lot!Written October 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To actually see the operation and what our troops endure and go thru to keep us safe and secure here at home is moving. The history of this ship is incredible and it's years of service impressive. I highly recommend for everyone. The entire staff onboard were great and were happy to talk to you and answer any questions about the ship. I especially want to mention Bill - we did an add'l Engine Room Tour and Bill was our knowledgeable Tour guide. He was excellent and he took so much time to explain in layman's terms what we were seeing and how it worked. Definitely take this opportunity when in Norfolk to tour the Wisconsin. Thanks to all those who served on her.Written December 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TitaricaJacksonville, NC22 contributionsThe weather didn’t help very much, but there were several exhibitions that were closed or under construction. They have a big variety of reptiles super cool! - Marc H6 contributionsIf you are a history buff this is a must see. Lots of historical artifacts revolving around the life and career of Gen. MacAuther. There is a movie theater inside that shows a great timeline of his life. You can also see where MacAuther and his wife are entombed in the rotunda.Written February 2, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sheenah S1 contributionThe Battleship is a ' must see'. Lots of interesting history. You may want to time your visit when it's not too hot and not too cold. It's cramped quarters, which can get hot, but it's on the water, so the breeze can get pretty cold at times.Written October 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
