What travelers are saying
- martin LSheffield, UK31 contributionsIconic symbol of Naxos. It comes into view as the ferry arrives into port. To reach it, you have to walk on a footpath leading to the temple with the sea on both sides. Beware of sea sprays on a windy day! It was not crowded the days I went, a magical experience at sunset.Written October 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - paninimomMill Valley, CA246 contributionsQuaint Port Town, has historic sites to visit, shops, and eateries. Lots of steps, inclines, winding narrow pathways. Beautiful to stroll through.Written October 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TBManchester, UK23 contributionsThe beach itself is beautiful. It’s very long, but doesn’t feel too crowded. Although we didn’t go to any there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the vicinity, as well as toilet and washing facilities.
Unfortunately, most of the beach is taken up by sun loungers, which were extortionately priced (at time of visit, 50€ a day for 2 beds and an umbrella). This is far more expensive than beaches on other islands. As such, we led on beach towels on the ground.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Olivia Robson10 contributionsA must visit, clear blue sea and lovely sandy beach. Definitely recommend a visit when staying in Naxos. It’s a short walk from the main road to the beach and there is a slight climb down to the beach.
Would recommend hiring a scooter, quad or car to get there if your not staying near to this area, as the bus wasn’t reliable.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, there is a fantastic temporary museum located nearby. The museum is free, and contains 10s of examples of the huge 5,000 year-old white Cyclades figures - amazing. I had no idea there are so large. Despite being a small museum, I was in there nearly one hour. There is an excellent roof-top view/restaurant/bar nearby too.Written October 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - indybandChadds Ford, PA68 contributionsA busy and well run Seaport. Many different types of ships coming in and out all day. Easy to get a tour. Easy to get a ferry to other islands. Even with all that boat traffic, the water remains very clear.Written August 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, GA17,370 contributionsWe enjoyed our time on this beach because it has fine, almost white sand, lots of parking, and almost no people. You can rent umbrellas and chairs, or walk a few hundred meters and be completely alone.Written November 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RazorfishLittle Rock, AR5,283 contributionsThe Cathedral is located across from Grotta Beach in Naxos. It is a distinctive whitewashed building.
