- Ashleigh MSimpsonville, SC3 contributionsDavis was great! We visited so many fantastic locations: chocolate museum, cigar factory, colonial church, and had a traditional lunch. The boat ride was amazing. So beautiful and we got to see monkeys! We tried to visit the masaya market but most vendors were closed because it was a Sunday. Our last stop was the masaya volcano. Wow! What an incredible experience to visit at night. It was very busy and we waited a long time to get in. I think the crowds were a combination of it being the weekend and also the park had recently reopen. It was totally worth the wait! We had such a great time that we arranged a driver for the next day. Rafael and Christopher were as sweet as they come! We went to the masaya market, apoyo lake lookout, and Rafael found a potter in San Juan de Oriente who invited us into his home to show us his process! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. - Anine A1 contributionWe absolutely recommend this night tour to the Masaya Volcano arranged by Welcome to Nicaragua! It was a great experience and we had the best guide. Gino (our guide) and Danilo (the driver) picked us up at our hotel in Granada before we headed up to The Volcano. Gino was so knowledgeable and made it a great experience. We had a beautiful sunset and it was so cool to see the magma (1/5 places in the world were you can see magma!!). It took about 3 hours, so a perfect afternoon activity before dinner.
Gino was also very helpful. He has a lot of contacts so if you need help with arranging transport, he will do the best to help you get the correct contact information to agencies etc.
We absolutely recommend this, and Gino!

We choose the Puma trail, the longest one, which is quite challenging but totally worth it. The cloud forest is beautiful and the views from the volcano are very nice. - Sarah RLos Angeles, CA106 contributionsI took the isleta tour with a friend my first day in Nicaragua and Danny was such an excellent guide that we booked a second tour a few days later to see more of the area. He was on time, has a very comfortable car, and had cold waters waiting for us which was so nice in the Granada heat! Danny knows so much about the area and the local nature. He had the perfect spots for photos and was the highlight of our trip. When we left Granada he was able to share contacts for tours in the rest of Nicaragua which made our whole trip so easy to plan and flawless. My guide Ulises was very kind and gracious, as are all the great people of this country. Ulises made sure we had quality time at each stop and took the time to explain in detail the sites. What a packed 11 hour day which was highlighted with a visit to the majestic Masaya Volcano, boat ride through the inlet islands of Lake Nicaragua, a traditional Nicaraguan lunch in the Central Park of Granada, followed by a tour of this colonial city, epic view of the Catarina lookout, visit to Mercado market, plus I added on a night visit/return to see the volcano and it’s red glow at night which was a highlight for me. I cannot say enough about the quality of this excursion and my guide.
