We toured the Islets via Kayak. Our tour guide - Lorenzo from Abdalah Tours - was knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure that our expectations were being met.

    An amazing experience.
I got lucky and b/c it was low season and a weekday I got my own guide for the Puma trail. First things first - when you hear you are driven up in a truck to get to the start of the hike you might be inclined to push back and say you want to start your hike from the entrance of the park. Don't do this on your first time unless you plan to do the easier or mid range trail.
The Puma trail is AMAZING. Sadly it was cloudy so I didn't get killer views (often it was just white) but the first half is through the gorgeous green, rain forest area and I was really entranced by the dead forest and thought it was so unique.
I'm in good shape, hike regularly and the steepness of the trail was tiring and strenuous but not impossible. Took about 2.5 hours but it will take longer if you're with a group.
Luis was my certified guide and he was wonderful. So knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and the ecosystem and passionate about conservation.
Really enjoyed my time here and the staff and locals are friendly

Beautiful church! The views from the bell tower are amazing, it only costs a dollar per person and it’s definitely worth it.

We were 4 adults who each paid $25 US for a 90 minute workshop. The guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed this learning experience. However, another person first sat close to our group to listen, then decided to join the activities, without paying, and our guide never said anything! On the contrary, he started to include the intruder in all activities, and all tastings. I felt it quite unfair. Charge us less if you are going to let others join free.

What an awesome and unique experience!!!! My friend and I went to the Magician Lounge during our stay in Granada and we are so glad we did. This is so much more than magic. Go there and check it out for yourself.

You can’t miss this Cathedral in Granada. Considering that most of the city is flat, this building stands out easily amongst the other structures. Towering far above all of it, visible from kilometres around, are the distinctive yellow and white bell towers and dome of the Catedral de Granada.
There’s been a church here since the late 16th century, but, along with other key sites in the city, it suffered at the hands of raiders in the centuries since. In 1856, the church was destroyed at the behest of William Walker}. Later in the century, rebuilding began but continued only fitfully due to lack of funding. The current version that you see now as largely complete by about 1915.
The inside is not the most ornate of the old city’s Catholic cathedrals. In fact, it’s relatively sparsely decorated. But what it lacks in crammed-to-the-rafters lavishness it makes up for in scale and a sense of space and calm. The nave is expansive and spacious.
The main altar piece is a strikingly beautiful arrangement of a statue of Mary surrounded by silver and backed by bright blue mosaic tiles. Spaced around the interior are a number of statues depicting religious figures and other religious artwork. And off to one side is a small but pretty little white chapel.
Well worth visiting and allow at least 30 minutes to explore the inside and outside.

This is one of the Catholic Churches that I visited in Granada on my first day in this city. It was the only one where I was required to wear a mask and my hands were sprayed with disenfectant.

What also distinguishes it from the other churches is the image of our Lady of Guadalupe at the upper part of the front facade. I said my prayers and took some pictures here.

This museum lays out the entire early history of the San Francisco Convent as well as Nicaragua & Granada. It is good for older children, but not your children.

This gorgeous central plaza is possibly the most picturesque in Central America.

Featuring colonial architecture its most famous feature is the stunning Granada Cathedral (Immaculate Conception of Mary Cathedral Church). This alone makes it worth the visit.

Unfortunately being the epicentre of a tourist focused town this park also features a lot of tour providers hawking their tours so it isn’t a relaxing place to linger as you are constantly being approached by salemen. I would also advise against coming here at night as I did note a man getting a BJ from a lady of the night at 9pm at night while walking past.

A lovely place to visit in the morning. It is a non commercial project. Most important is that the butterflies get good possibilities to survive, not to show tourists around. Still this kind of project costs so just visit the place so it can survive!

I briefly rested here during my walk around Granada. Taking photos of my surroundings, I noted the cathedral near by, statues, vendors selling their wares, horses and their carriages, colonial buildings, Christmas decorations, etc. I enjoyed my rest here.

Good info (some in English) on the history of the peoples and cultures of this area, and when I was there, a very interesting small exhibit of contemporary art at the back.

During the day, there is not much to do here. It is a main thoroughfare from the city center to the Malecon or the area near the lake. In the evening, there are restaurans and other establishments open for business here. Have fun!

We went through the cemetary on horse/carriage but also a cool place to stroll through. Lots of history, beautiful marble - very glad we made this a stop

It was perfect timing! After leaving the museum, I saw someone opening its doors. I quickly entered and said my prayers. Decorations inside are simple and sparse . I took some photos as reminders of my brief visit here.
