Great set up. Plenty of seating. Female at the register in the side shop was not friendly at all and had an attitude for no reason. Other than that it was a great way to spend a day. $50 for a bottle and tiny baguette.

In 1972 Hurricane Agnes flooded the Potomac river. Those of you who visited have seen the flood line on the top of the store. I was there as a teenager and helped saved the General Jubal Early. The last trip from the Virginia side to Maryland side we almost broke the cable as a HUGE tree was caught on that cable. Lucky we were able to back up and ram the tree and it fell off.

Rudy Fogle was sleeping that night in the 3rd floor of the store when he was awoken by a fireman knocking on the window. The river raised so fast!

I have a million stories about Whites Ferry during the hippie days. This place is a treasure - open it back up!

On our visit to Leesburg, we stopped into Morven Park to go for a hike. The grounds have a nice 1.2 mile hiking loop into the woods. It's a little steep at first but it is not too tough a hike.
The only issue was a couple of trees had fallen across the hiking trail and these trees probably should have been sawed apart and removed from the trail (we had to climb over them - there was no way around them).
As luck would have it many of the buildings, including the mansion were open and we got the chance to look in the mansion and one of the farmhand houses.
Overall a nice experience and a place to take advantage of on a nice day.

Being from Germany, we are particularly grateful for the service of George C. Marshall. He was probably one of the most important people to secure freedom during the war and to secure peace, prosperity and freedom in Western Europe after the war. I don't think he gets enough credit, so I am glad that his home was saved from demolition and that there are volunteers like Michelle who keep his legacy alive by telling us stories about this great man. I always love it when a tour guide seems to enjoy themselves as much as we do. Thank you! Mahalo! Danke!

The mall is perfect for our current times. Open spaces, fresh air and lots of great stores to choose from. A notable store is the Williams Sonoma outlet, friendly service and good selection of merchandise.

The staff was extreamly friendly and welcoming. We had Poler Express Wine Pairings. The little bites were delicious and really changed the flavor of the wine. Overall, the wine was alright and a bit on the sweet side. However, the little bites made the whole trip worth it. It made me think of some new pairings to bring back for Christmas. Although we didnt try, they are now offering a chocolate and wine pairing. My favorite wine was the raspberry merlot and dark chocolate pairing which was our 4th pairing in our Poler Express tasting box. Overall, the trip is worth the whole experience.

We visited Vanish on a Saturday early evening in July on our way back from Dulles Airport. We went on a whim and on the basis of the good reviews. It is quite the venue! There is lots of parking and several bars serving the brewery's wide range of beers. They have over 20 on tap that run the gamut from Saisons to Stouts, from IPAs to Sours. Can't decide? Get a flight and then take it to one of the outside tables. On Saturday afternoon they had two "stationary" food trucks - oysters and Asian "street" food. Neither are vegetarian friendly but Vanish also sells pizza, burgers, and bar snacks. They also had popcorn and ice cream on sale so the place is very kid friendly. Kids have plenty of room to run around while their parents enjoy the beer and live music. I have to say I wasn't blown away by any of the beers but there were a few decent ones in my flight. The bottom line is that Vanish makes for a nice outing.

We ended up at Oatland to kill some time, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The site is beautiful. The two mile trail was easily navigated, even in flip flops! Well maintained and a must see when in Savannah.

We’ve visited this farm winery twice over the past several years and it just keeps getting better and better. The location is very beautiful, and the wines are uniformly fresh tasting, well made and blended with great finesse. Favorites include Steamship White, Adeline and the Viogner. Pack some charcuterie and enjoy the peaceful surroundings on the back deck of the tasting barn. Highly recommended.

We visit a lot of wineries and this one is now one of our favorites. What stands out is the attention to detail in all aspects.

The indoor seating area is divine. A superb way to enjoy the wines and gourmet food. Our table was in front of a stone wall fireplace. Very cozy! Tablecloths, mini pumpkins and gourds with fresh flowers and napkins. And Reidel glasses which are the only ones to properly enjoy wine.

We had a wonderful lunch that goes way beyond the typical winery menu. And the wines were lovely, offering a nice depth. If I had to criticize anything, it's that the pours were a little on the small side. I had to order a full glass to enjoy with my meal. Not that I'm complaining... ;)

The staff was great, too. Very friendly and informative. We will definitely be back!

We went on a Sunday afternoon. Great views, quiet (we went on a non-kids day), and very relaxing. Kids are allowed on Fridays, but Saturdays and Sundays are all for the grownups! Views and service are fantastic. Also, wines and flights are nicely priced so you can go, enjoy, and still not go too far in debt for a relaxing afternoon. The food was nicely offered and ok, but def isn't the reason you go.

BUT, the BlackBerry merlot sangria IS a reason to make sure you hit this place! Wow!!

My friend and I went for the concert on the Saturday before Labor Day and had a really good time. The tribute band did a really good job and the winery was beautiful.
I do have a couple complaints though.
First, as first timers, we were completely put off of buying any of Tarara's wine because there was zero options for anything other than buying a full bottle. There were no tasting options nor were there any options for buying a glass. On top of that huge issue, there were signs stipulating that all alcohol purchases must be conum at venue prior to leaving the concert. WTF! You want someone to either consume an entire bottle of wine at the concert or dump said wine before leaving?! Not to mention that the cheapest bottle option was like $30. Definitely not practical so we didn't have a single drop of wine from this winery while we were there.
Secondly, and equally as important there definitely needs to be some lighting added by the portable bathrooms. Especially if Tarara intends to continue having concerts that don't end until after 9pm. Its dangerous and completely unsanitary.
