Captain Dan, and his father Captain Ray, are excellent guides and historians regarding the islands, the waterways, the wildlife (especially the ponies), the lighthouse, and marine life.
While my main interest is photographing the ponies, I also love to take pics of the scenery, birds, dolphins, water, sunsets, etc. Captain Dan is very informative, and although I have been visiting the island sinc...

A personalized tour that feels more like a boat ride with a very knowledgeable friend, rather then a tour company.
His understanding of the history and the best places to see the wildlife and the ponies is tremendous.

We had a private tour of the coastal waters between Chincoteague and Assateague Islands, getting to see dolphins (very up-close), ponies, and several species of birds (including a bald eagle).
Mary has so much knowledge of the Islands that you get a history lesson as well as see the wild ponies, eagles etc. Mary's boat was very accommodating as well.

We saw ponies close-up on the beach, and learned about migratory birds, clam & oyster aquaculture, Chincoteague history, and Bill’s personal experiences in being a “saltwater cowboy” for the pony roundup.
You will experience a leisurely boat ride down the channel between the islands learning about the history of the area, the wildlife, the ponies, and current day happenings on the island.

Well thanks to our guide Jake (no khakis or car insurance selling!) this was a perfect excursion across the channel and through the marsh creeks.
