Kiptopeke State Park
#3 of 9 things to do in Cape Charles
Our family enjoyed the guided evening walk through the park's wooded areas in search of local owls and the beach safari walk along the sandy beach including a little fishing and Bald Eagle spotting.
Mild waves, sands bars during low tide, and shallow water during high tide, make the beach uniquely safe and ideal for kids.
Cape Charles Beach
#2 of 9 things to do in Cape Charles
The beach is perfect for small children, and the Chesapeake Bay is perfect, with warm shallow water due to sand bars, and small waves.
Water is shallow and seems like it's typically calm, so great for families, and it's a short walk to the cute restaurants and shops on the little Cape Charles drag.
Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
#1 of 9 things to do in Cape Charles
Our children are always excited by tunnels and bridges so having both was beyond exciting for them.
Our kids thought it was fascinating and the adults did too.
