We actually walked part of this Bike Path. We stayed at the Hilton-so walked down to the Lake around the Boardwalk and walked the path north for about a mile. Pretty-very scenic. I'm sure it would have been beautiful to have gone further-but our goal was South Burlington. We met a super friendly local named Kim who walked the North portion with us, and told us about some places that we should visit while we were here for 4 days. Friendly New Englanders are just great-and we appreciated all of her advice.
We turned around and walked South all the way down to Oakledge Park. It is a very industrial walk and that part is referred to as the Rail Trail. We jumped off at Flynn Avenue-and continued our exploration of the South End. Gorgeous November day-sunny and in the mid 60's.
Burlington is lucky to have this wonderful walking/biking path.

I really enjoyed the walk through town here with my dog. It's kept very well and I recommend the Marketplace Garage for parking as it's cheap and takes you right to the center area. Great vendors and food places, wide open so even when it's crowded you have space. Some vendors not dog friendly which was the only downside for me.

It was an overcast and windy day but were able to enjoy the boardwalk before the rain came. Loved the idea of having swing benches along the walk to stop and enjoy the view. it's not a long walk, but wonderful for a leisurely stroll. Can only imagine what the sunsets would have been like. Parking is nearby and inexpensive.

Well worth the $ if you want to visit the other side of the lake. I thought it was a little confusing to find but I'm glad I did! This is the only way I would have visited Burlington, VT as the drive would have been too long from Plattsburgh where I was staying.

We visited in late October, so well past peak produce season, and the market was still lively and full of interesting and delicious products. It has a great, welcoming, laid-back vibe.

Vermont is a mecca for local brewers, locally brewed craft beer, and brew pubs. We stopped in with some of our family to check out what makes this brewery different. Tried 4 different beers, and all were great. This brewery, in particular, tends to offer beer that uses fruit in their process. Pineapple taste point? Yup. Sour? Yup, and everything in between. Great spot, and if you are on a tour of all Vermont breweries, then be sure and carve out a year to visit all of them.

What a great place! We got here later than I wanted, getting here at 3 (and they close at 5), but kid enjoyed the two hours here, building and racing a Lego racer, role playing in the Champ Lane area, and looking at the fish. Just enough time, although we could have spent longer. One of our regrets is that we didn't have enough time to watch a 3D movie, which looked interesting. Due to construction, the ECHO parking lot is inaccessible, but we parked at the adjacent lot (cards only, $10 for our stay, and there was only one price option; it wasn't per hour.) We'll definitely be back and stay longer next time we're in the area.

very nice beach, only about 5-10 min drive from the waterfront area. in response to SpyderWitch, the park entrance is the same as the campground, the exit on the left side is clearly marked but the entrance on the right side is not as obvious. After the stop sign, just go straight to the gate. When we went it was $10 parking per car and just drive down straight and to the right. Fairly calm as expected, although there were small waves. Small restaurant, bathrooms, kayak and standup board rentals all available. The sunsets were amazing over Lake Champlain.

We drove through / past the campus of UVM. Looks beautiful as you’d expect, but we spent no time there at all. The Lake Champlain waterfront area is very nice — spread out, neat and inviting. We went on a 90 minute cruise on the Ethan Allen and though it was cloudy & breezy, it was a very fine little trip and well worth the $40-something tag (which included a full lunch served by a very attentive staff). We like Burlington a lot. And especially Church Street where it’s set up for pedestrians only….they’ve got dozens of modest-sized but quite fine retail stores & restaurants & taverns, etc. As for lodging—we didn’t stay in Burlington because we had a super deal in nearby Waterbury at a Marriott Fairfield….about a 20-30 minute drive away.

We had planned a 4 day trip to Burlington, and decided to check into what was happening at The Flynn. Much to our delight, it was Mania, The Abba Tribute!
It was a fantastic night in early November, so before the show we wandered the Church Street Marketplace, and had a great dinner at American Flatbread. Staying at the Hilton gave us walking access to everything!
We purchased tickets early, and ended up with awesome seats in Row C. The event was absolutely magical...this group from the UK was high energy, and really got the crowd moving. More than worth the $71 per ticket charge!
This venue is gorgeous! Built originally in 1930, it has undergone several remodels-but maintained its Art Deco style.

We walked down the Bike Path to the Breweries in South Burlington. Since we literally walked right by here it was worth the stop. No clue of how this all got started...but it was a beautiful sunny day, so we made a 3 minute stop to check it out.
    Who knew???

One of the very few places that open and start serving craft beers at 8am. Beers were great. There are table games indoors which makes this a fun place. Would have stayed for a meal if we did not have a plan to visit other breweries as well.

Watch the brief introductory film then go on the guided tour to get the most out of the historic homestead. Angela, our docent, was excellent and answered the group's questions with facts, insight, and humor.

Oakledge Park is a nice little park in south Burlington with some nice facilities. The beach has great views of Lake Champlain and the Burlington shoreline. The beach is rounded, and quite rocky in some areas. There are picnic tables, pavilions, walking trails, tennis and volleyball courts as well as a playground. There is a cool treehouse to climb as well as bathrooms. It will cost you $2 an hour to park from May to October.

We visited 3 breweries in our walk around the South end of Burlington.
This brewery is tucked back "behind" the much larger Burlington Beer Company. The ambience of Switchback is awesome! Both indoor and outdoor spaces are welcoming.
The business is 100% employee owned, and everyone we met was friendly. It is dog friendly...they even have a couple wandering around with Switchback coats on!!
We tried a flight-and played a few games of Uno, from the games they have available. The beer is a bit smokey, so we tried beers with less smoke.
Going on a Wednesday afternoon mid-week in November (sunny and 60 degrees), we did not encounter any crowds-but there were definitely people visiting!
Nice place, just not our favorite beer.
