What travelers are saying
- Connie S7 contributionsLots of booths full of farm fresh fruits, jellies, honey, syrups, veggies, flowers. There are also food trucks with lots of diversity. A great way to spend an hour or so on a Saturday morning.Written October 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Douglas MAcworth, GA836 contributionsThis family business is full of tasty treats for those visiting the Covered Bridge! It is right next to the Bridge and they have delicious ice cream, hime made pastries, bread, and fudge. Hot cocoa too. The friendly folks there will serve you with a smile. No sit down inside dining though. But, the covered porch protected us from the rain Well worth the stop. I bought a candy gift for my mom for New Years.Written December 31, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- karen0706Severn, Maryland411 contributionsWe had fun tasting flights of their liquors and liquers. The owner was friendly and made us feel welcome. Tastings are outdoors because of covid. It's $5 to taste 4 of their spirits and the $5 is refunded if you buy a bottle. Our favorites were the sapling maple bourbon and snowdrop gin and we bought a bottle of each. If you want to linger, cocktails are available.Written July 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Larissa MSouth Windsor, CT138 contributionsThis is a great small museum, we spent about one hour walking through it all. Most of it right now is art from grades 8 to 12 who won a local competition. Very creative pieces, we all enjoyed it.Written February 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Connie S7 contributionsA beautiful farm where you can see many different animals. There are miles of trails to walk, a cheese/ gift shop. Concerts in the summer were wonderful. Definitely worth the trip out there.Written October 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Christine GSorrento, FL4 contributionsThis is a traditional family owned sugar farm. We learned a lot about making maple syrup....how it was done and the changes of making it today.
It's off the beaten track but worth the visit. Really nice store with home made items and of course maple syrup.Written October 16, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Danielle W1 contributionWe went to Retreat Trails every day of vacation. It's an amazing variety, with multiple trails to choose from. You'll never get bored out here! Be sure to donate to keep this farm running. (We did!)Written August 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Joyce LBristol39 contributionsGet some food from a deli and have a picnic here, Close to the farmer's market and the covered bridge.Written October 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- USMCRipMerrimack, NH1,626 contributionsWe had some time to kill and we were near downtown anyway.
It is downtown so parking is always an issue.
This place is full of interesting and vintage and very curiously strange items all located on three floors.
We bought a few small items and throughly enjoyed the visit.Written September 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Sue K19 contributionsHermit Thrush Brewery is a must visit brewery. If you like sour beers then this is the place to go with so many different flavors. We tried a raspberry apple sour and it was fabulous. At first you taste sour apple and then you can definitely taste the raspberries. We only stopped by to taste a couple of the beers and didn't have time to order anything on the menu. The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly.Written September 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- happyhiker10seattle112 contributionsMy husband and I stopped in Brattleboro when returning to Boston from a hiking/leaf peeping trip to New Hampshire and Vermont. There are great restaurants, a pretty mountain with fall colors and a creek. There are sidewalks galore. I was surprised by a previous review from August 2021 that trashed this town saying there were too many homeless and the buildings were boarded up. 'They were not in the same town that we were! Only one building was boarded up, the rest of the town was renovated and vibrant. There were young people on the streets and am amazing food coop with outstanding sandwiches for take out. Charming churches, beautiful old homes, cute shops and a creek running into the Connecticut River.Written October 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Becky HRutland, VT19 contributionsSmall Museum with lots of stuff to see. I enjoyed the back room with the vintage clothing Tasha wore. It was nice you could also buy her books among other things.Written October 18, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Christine BTurners Falls, Massachusetts, United States3 contributionsWe set out on a snowy morning and had a thrilling ride! Great deal, kind people, beautiful landscape. Jay and Janet made this a day to remember. Multi-generational group with youngsters, tween and younger, young adults, parents and grandparents... sublime. ❤Written February 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jeff77664Downingtown, PA437 contributionsSpent probably 1 hour here in late August.
Did 2 trails (sunrise and sunset). Both trails were pretty flat walking, in shade, and had some bugs.
Of note, if you get a park pass, it is valid for other Vermont State Parks that day.Written October 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jennifer RBellingham, MA404 contributionsThis was an excellent experience for me. A descendant of the Estey family, I really wanted to stop here and check it out. I thought it would be a self-guided kind of thing, but Les (who used to work at the company) was a wonderful surprise. He was incredibly knowledgeable and told me more about the history and organs than I ever knew. He even let me play one! Loved this!Written September 29, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
