What travelers are saying
- snowbrushcafeWindsor, CO15 contributionsExcellent collection and a nice way to spend a cold afternoon with family and friends. I cannot believe this museum is free! There were many volunteers that were friendly, welcoming and eager to share knowledge.Written February 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LightPacker308286Rockville, MD1,414 contributionsThis was the best thing I could’ve showed my daughter and grandson! Loved the gem mining experience upstairs. The Show Box displays an amazing green forest Malachite ( Cu2(CO3)(OH)2 ) from Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also shows dinners on the table: Baked Potato, Salmon, Steak and Lamb Chops Fossils. Indoor downstairs, a panel mounted cast skeleton of Tanycolagreus showing how some theropods are found with their necks pull back in called a “Death Pose”. Outdoors Dinosaurs Parks shows numerous wonderful carnivorous and herbivore dinosaurs. We spent around one hour and ended up gift shop.Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kate DSouth Yorkshire, UK499 contributionsImpressed by the diversity of the museum exhibits, trains, railway, guns, cars and cowboy related items.
Very friendly and informative staff. We spent 2 hours there but wish we had longer. Parked in town in a 2 hour spot. Plenty of parking outside.Written September 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The inside and outside area around Union Station contains a number of train-related exhibits, particularly five impressive locomotives arranged side-by-side at the Spencer S. and Hope Fox Eccles Railroad Center. There did not seem to be any way for visitors to climb aboard the trains.
Admission fees and tickets were not required for most of these train-related exhibits, and there was no obvious signage indicating that the place was a "museum".
The interior of Union Station contains displays on the station's history as well as several small museums (that required admission) on non-train topics.Written December 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, I can see that this waterfall would be amazing in spring or after a storm.Written December 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LightPacker308286Rockville, MD1,414 contributionsIn the late weekday afternoon after 5 PM, we parked car free in the DMV parking lot. We started right at one end of the Street- the Union Station. Three Union Station Museums are closed after business hours. While standing in front of the Union Station, you may see both sides of the historic 25th street situated well-preserved buildings with a mountain view. We then walked down the Street. Dozens of life size fiberglass horses designed and painted by the local artist are displayed along the Street. Enjoying strolling down the Historic 25th Street.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- christopher s22 contributionsWe stopped in, and we're happy we did. The park is smaller but nicely kept.
The staff was very nice, and the admission was less than most donations. The raptor habitat was impressive because they have only injured birds who could not be in the wild anymore. Cronk, the Raven, was quite a character.Written April 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I think there is enough diversity and fun to keep your kid entertained for a while, mine is 6 and he has a lot of fun. I think kids under 10 especially would enjoy it. Admission is really fair too.
My one complaint is it becomes a bit of a maze of you don’t use the stairs to keep up with the kiddos. It is accessible but can be a harder trip. There are some quieter areas like the little hut if you need an area to chill out for a bit while your kid plays inside too.Written March 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is small and free to visit, but you will get some nice pictures on a sunny day. The gardens are a little run down, but there were workers there maintaining the garden while we were there. It is a nice place to visit, and you probably won't spend long here. But nice scenery, and it is free, but nothing extravagant.Written June 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael HSugar Land, TX3 contributionsNot only is there a great Browning exhibit but this location has a classic car, railroad, and small cowboy exhibit all located in the old Union StationWritten October 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anahi C3 contributionsSuper nice clean and calm, I love how even when it’s busy you still have your own space away from others. - Darryl LHouston, United States8 contributionsI saw a band there on May 15 2018 and had one of the best concert event of my life. I was a Mowtown Review show at no cost to enter.
