    Interesting Plantation History
    The visitors center had a short film which gave an overview of the history of the location, which was interesting. Then we went out to explore the buildings. It is drivable, which was good. The barn has a couple of old buggies as well as tools to work the fields. The main house is empty of furniture awaiting restoration. But you can go upstairs to the 2nd floor. The stairs are sturdy. Make sure you go to where the furnishings are stored, as that is interesting to see also. We drove through the sugar mill area and the slave quarters. Due to the cold, windy weather, we didn't get out, but you could see some of the old brick foundations. There are bathrooms on site, and they were clean.

    A Historical Gem
    We loved this museum! It is well put together and the staff took a lot of time to explain the displays and the history. We highly recommend a trip to West Columbia to experience the rich history of the Texas Revolution and the people that made that history. The town is a treasure trove!

    Very enjoyable
    Went to meadery after trying their products elsewhere.
    I really enjoyed it! My hubby and I reach got a flight and enjoyed each mead we tried. The service was great, and we will definitely go back.

    Very Historic
    We didn’t get to go inside the building but it is well preserved and we enjoyed learning about the history. Beautiful setting.
