- Steven HAnamosa, IA277 contributionsThe beach is very clean and very wide. You can drive down the beach and park where you want to stay. Don’t forget your beach parking sticker! Every morning there was a crew cleaning the beach. Anything you don’t want to rust..,,don’t take to the beach. We had numerous items covered in rust in about 3-4 days. The morning fog in the winter and early spring is relentless. And the wind is 10-20 mph daily…,all typical if on the beach this tome of year. Although it was nice and a fun place to be, I don’t think we’d come back until later in the spring.Written March 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Megan WDriftwood, TX15 contributionsIt is a fully self-service, but nicely maintained outdoor, bird watching area. Parking is free. There are 2 covered gazebos with a little bit of seating if traveling with smalls or elderly..Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol M20 contributionsDefinately a to do. We were travelling with a 5th wheel and it was easy to get on and off. Would suggest that people guiding you on provide verbal instruction on where to park. Coming from the Maritimes we are used to ferries but we always go within the marked lane on the ferry. Apparently we should have straddled the lanes - the hand signal with 2 fingers means that. Good to know. It is free, easy and efficient. You remain in your vehicle to cross which was great because we travel with our dog.Written February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Henry AHays, KS604 contributionsIt was an easy place to get on the beach and wet our toes. There were quite a few shells washed up on the beach. Birds were wandering around among the people.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- scotttimkimLeola, PA209 contributionsWe loved the trail and a nice waterside deck/seating and pavilion to watch the sunset. Also a very close spot to watch the large ships and a restroom in the parking lot.Written February 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Red fish1 contributionThe over all trip was good, I've been on a few charters like this so I knew how the fish should be. When we got to the first fishing grounds not one person got a bite, not one now this boat had over70 people on it. Everyone is looking around at each other and saying is this what we paid for? We kept telling the deck hands the captain needs to move to another spot, we sat there getting no bites for about an hour. The captain finally moves the boat after on 2 fish caught after an hour with 70 + people on it. My thing is move the boat if the people paying 150 each is not catching until you find them. I did end up catching like 4 fish but alot of people didn't catch anything and I mean alot say 20 or more people didn't.Written October 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria M19 contributionsWe went with family and had a good time. It has good information about the island and a few fun activities for kids. We enjoyed the walking trail too.Written December 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- savytraverlor43323Lino Lakes, MN464 contributionsYou need to take a jetty to get to this area but it is worth it. Jetty cost is $18 for both there and back. The beach has beautiful solid sand just like the beach in Port Aransas. There is nothing there except beach. You need to bring your own supplies. Also no bathroom. We went to go shelling. Left disappointed because we didn't find any great shells like we were hoping to find. We did see some dolphins and there were about 20 people fishing along the jetty. There has been a lot of wind the last couple of days so I hope the overturned garbage cans the reason for the tons of plastic all over. Wish city did better job grabbing the garbage. It is a public beach on a privately owned island.Written February 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tracy PPlano, TX16 contributionsBeautiful!Could easily see dolphins from the shore. Some played in the ships, some came near the edge where we were standing. Beautiful sunset, playground for the kids and lots of people fishing. Great spotWritten August 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol M20 contributionsFrankie, our guide at Farley's boat work was engaging, funny and full of information. Coming from Nova Scotia, we had lots of questions about how the boats were built and the history of Farley boat works. We enjoyed our visit. We had to wait a day to go to the museum as it was not opened. Really enjoyed the displays and how the channel was constructed.Written February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tibike2017Mansfield, TX53 contributionsTook about 2 hours. Very nice, only difficult part is getting across the cannel. Start early and start downwind, pass if wind is over 8 MPH to stasrt.Written July 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Baybug2Macon, GA217 contributionsWe went Sat and very windy. Lines long to get in even having having prepaid tickets. Thought they would be completed but artists still working. Lots of people. Prices were high for everything. Ferry took 2 hrs to go 1 mile.Written April 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CaminantedelsurFort Worth, TX51 contributionsAttended Radney Foster's performance last Friday. While I have been to this venue before, last Friday's show was simply amazing. Have never left Third Coast unsatisfied. There is not a bad seat in the place! In addition to the intimate feel and great acoustics of the place, the crowd is mellow. BYOB makes it even more unique.Written March 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
