My family of 5 visited Portaventura on a Friday in June. It seems that we were (un)lucky enough to be there on the same day hundreds of teenage schoolkids were there as well. It also happened to be a very, very hot day. So, lines for all rides were long (up to 2 hours), sweaty, hot, miserable, loud. But the rides were fun and we had a great day. We were also suprised to find out that drink and snack stands were not open for the first hour or two of our visit.

I thought this was a bit of nothing when we saw it in the day but it was actually really pretty at night! I would highly recommend.

Lovely area with nearby amenities. Well kept, not too crowded. Also lovely water stations along the front where you can spray your feet off after a walk or paddle.

Good water park with thrilling slides and relaxing pools highlight being the yellow and red slide (Be prepared to be soaked!) , however, this isn’t worth more than half a day as everything gets repetitive after a while, I understand there may not be enough space to expand but management could introduce shows to maintain interest as well as one more new slide, but overall, if you’re at Portaventura, then do it as it is good for an hour or two, distracts from the heat during summer months and saves the extra distance for the other water park in Spain, Aquaviles.

I had a room at Salou Beach by Pierre hotel, only 300 yards away from this beach. We did not need to look for another one. Absolutely beautiful. Bar close to the beach, I have read here that it was expensive...well, if you pay 3.20 Euros for a good quality bottled beer, that's not expensive, when the waves of the sea are at your feet. Did swim at 21:00, in a warm sea, on 3 rd of September, and the bar was still open, for late night visitors, with torches and staff around. It was such a nice evening. Will have to go again.

fantastic little cove with beach not to busy and a shallow sea ideal for snorkelling and fish spotting only problem if you have mobility issues as its very steep to get to

I was staying in Salou and cycled here a couple of times. There is a coastal footpath you can also walk it. I’d suggest if cycling have a good bike or be prepared to have to push up some steep slopes! If you’re in a family with young children best to take the car.

I don’t understand the negative reviews of this beach. For me it was perfect. Clear & clean water. Great for snorkelling in the rocky areas & swimming. Plenty of bins and also a bar on the beach and toilets. I walked up to a cafe at the top of the slope as they had a good food menu which included takeaways so sat on the beach.

It was never to busy but mainly locals rather than tourists.

A relaxing, quiet place in the centre of Salou. Plenty of shaded seats with the sound of running water - there are ponds and small water falls to listen to, make this a nice place to stop for a few minutes.
There is a cafe and climbing frames for children.

We happened upon this little cove while out for a walk on our second night in Cap Salou. Its about 200ft wide so not that big. The night we went, there was an awful smell down there. So we never went back again after that. The water is calm though. There is no shower facilities like you see on some of the other beaches. There was about 10 other people on the beach so not really that busy. You have to walk down a good few steps to get to the beach, so not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.(Unless you carry them). I probably wouldn't rush back here again, as in my opinion there are better beaches about.
The kids had fun in the sea though!!

There's not many play parks in Salou but this is certainly a good one. There's swings, slides, a climbing frame and some other bits.
It's not big but its a decent size, should keep the little ones happy for an hour or so.

Ponent is one of the some beaches located in Salou, a coastal and touristic town in the South of Catalonia, near Tarragona. It is a very long beach of sand, where you can relax, walk, see peole, do a pique-nique and, obivously, bath and sunbath all day. It is a very nice place to come with friends, the couple or children and stay all day. Also, on sand, there are bars, where you can drink or eat something. We came here in July-2021, and it was not full of people due to pandemic and that the beach is very long. Very good place to bath.
