We loved visiting Quina Mazatlan and were glad we found this gem. Since we were there in February, the grounds had additional accents for Valentines Day -- very nice. There were signs along the way informing you about certain trees, animals native to the area and those that are endangered. We also saw lots of colorful birds at one of the feeding stations. The home itself is beautiful and so well maintained. One can only imagine living here for 30 years!

Good but pricey place for a conference - we used multiple meeting/breakout rooms and they were fine (the sound was a little 'boomy' but the staff was excellent. As I said - a little over priced.

I hate malls. I hate people. This place was cool. The folks were cool. NOT GHETTO like most malls and the people shopping were dressed nice. Good shopping experience. Remember, I absolutely hate malls and crowds, but this place made me happy. Recommend.

We've gotten a ton of use out of our membership over the last few years. It's not the biggest museum, but that makes it more manageable (and not exhausting!) with kids of any age. There's always an interesting art exhibit in the back halls and a kid-friendly traveling exhibit in the main space.

The permanent attractions, like the art studio and the giant wooden playground made it worth a visit 2-3 times a month. I recommend packing a lunch to eat outside on the picnic tables after your visit.

Overall: It's a fun, interactive, clean, family-friendly museum, probably best for babies up to middle-school age. But anyone can have fun and learn something! Oh, and their annual Night at the Brewseum (and post-event Sunday beer garden) is a great date night.

We very much enjoyed being at the Center. There were nice paths and most of all, a very informed park employee who leads morning tours. We didnt know about the tours in advance, so this was a very special treat. (Admission is free, w donations accepted,) I recommend a visit - and a donation!

Enjoy the smells and sample their fresh locally grown citrus and honey. The orchard is on site and we were able to pick and taste fresh kumquats. A great experience that we highly recommend.

Paddle boating and bikes are available. You can fish or just walk the path around the lake. Saturdays feature the farmer's market. A nice touch in South Texas.

We have had season tickets for McAllen Community Concerts these past two years. Our seats have been in the right rear of the balcony. We attended a special concert this Spring, with seats near the center of the first floor and noticed that there was little difference in the excellent acoustics between first floor and rear balcony.

Several selections to choose from whether restaurant, club or hangout spot. 17th closed to traffic on weekends after 8pm. Little but rowdy at times. Use an Uber. Better for parking situation. Close to the Food Park if on a budget. Nice addition. To MFE.

There are many collections on display of southwestern items-spurs, pottery, clothing, etc. The architecture of the building only is worthy of coming to the museum. There is also jewelry for sale. The owners seem dedicated to helping preserve history. There are many items for sale also. Well worth a trip to see the museum while in town.

while visiting the downtown area we stopped in to visit this small free local museum. donations are accepted. we spent about an hour and loved perusing what appeared to be mainly locally donated memorabilia and artifacts. everything from old high school letterman jackets and cheerleader uniforms to military items donated by locals to well just about everything you could think of. it was not only a comprehensive detailing of McAllen's past but also a trip down memory lane decade by decade. it was probably the highlight of our time in McAllen. hours of operation are limited so make sure you check before going but it is surely worth working it into your day.
