This was an unexpected find. The sculptures were amazing. It was a very peaceful and spiritual experience. The layout of the garden provided a nice way to experience its beauty.
Love this trail! It is very well kept and beautiful. I wish all the roads were as bicycle friendly and walking friendly in Kerrville. It is the only real safe place to walk or ride in town
On our way across country with truck and trailer, we broke down and had our truck towed to mechanic and found nice people who helped us tow the trailer to the state park. Wow… what a place to break down and be stuck. We had a beautiful camp site. Trails all around us. The river walk just down the road that takes us from one side of town the the other. It is a long trail and thank God we have scooters to travel the path with! We have been able to ride (mostly safely) all over town! We have our four legged furry kids with us so the paths have been nice for walks with them as well. I would love to stay here again if passing through Texas!!
This was the only winery that was close to where we are staying in Kerrville so I had to check it out. The building was nice and clean with a bar and some tables. We went to the bar, there were no stools and opted to do the tasting. We tried 7 wines although the tasting was for 5. It was $20 for the tasting. I didn’t find anything I loved enough to have a glass or even take a bottle. Buddy was our wine host and he was very nice and friendly and kept us in conversation for our duration. I didn’t see that there were any tours offered. It is worth checking out!
Wonderful exhibits, every changing. We have never been disappointed with the exhibits. Always something new! Great leadership and volunteers. A great place to take visitors. We always enjoy the Wild West Wine Wednesdays!
I would have given this 5 stars but I was a little disappointed in the outdoor gardens. No fault of the center as it was still cold and dormant. I think this is a great place to see. With a lot of prehistoric artifacts. If I lived here I would go here on a regular basis because it is hard to see all the things and learn about it in one trip. I highly suggest all locals become members! This is a great community perk!
My favorite part of this experience was finding out that it existed! We stopped for breakfast in Kerrville and a wonderful waitress told my friend and I Not to miss the cross on the hill. We felt such peace and love at this prayer garden. Writing a small message on a small rock and placing it in the rock prayer area was the icing on the cake!
If ever in the area again, I most certainly will go back. We did miss a few sculptures so need to go back for more.
we have told everyone about the garden.
For those who love the Lord, it is a moving experience.
Staying a few days in Hill country of Texas. Decided to stay in Kerrville and searched for events during the time we were there. Found Symphony of the Hills concert at the Caillox Theatre. Beautiful venue and great seating. Not a bad seat in the house.
Upon entering the house, we were offered to join the final tour of the day that was in progress, or look around on our own. We chose to join the tour. I felt we could have looked around on our own cause there really isn’t much to see. They didn’t allow anyone up stairs. There is a 15 minute long film you watch which gives you most of the information. It would be something all locals should see.
A large antique store with some thing for everybody. Vintage records, toys, figurines, furniture, military, bakeware, jewelry. Fun way to spend an hour or two. Parking right in front of the store.
