We had a very good time here. So many different animals and even water creatures too. We thought the zoo was very good value since it is GIGANTIC and organized nice. I would say they need to improve their concessions and Food a bit, my pretzel seemed old and the Pepsi wasn't even cold. I found better snacks inside the Herman Park than the zoo which shouldn't be case for such a crowded and well visited city zoo. I would come back again on future trips, my 14-year daughter thought it was the BEST zoo she has ever visited and I agree

This is a great place to visit while in town! It is right downtown Houston. We really enjoyed seening many of the smaller fish and animals as you walk in. we were totally surprised to see tigers in an aquarium, but it was nice to see them. We did do the stingray tank and got to pet several of them. You can buy food to feed them but simply held our hand close to the edge of the tank and they would swim up and let you pet them. Interesting! Then we got th this beatiful glass column many feet tall with fish at different levels. You climb a circular stair case up around thsi column to get the the main tank with a restaurant aound it. This is where tbe bigger fish are and it was quite interesting to see them all swimming around! Definetly worthwhile! It would have been nicer to have it located away from the downtown area to allow for cheaper parking!
