This is a wonderfully restored and preserved historic site on Hwy 183, about a mile outside the city of Goliad.
This a great place for those who read about Texas History and it good start before going to the other Historic sites near by.
Goliad State Park & Mission Espiritu Santo State Historic Site

The park itself has some nice hiking trails and several campgrounds, most sites under large shade trees.
For large groups looking to stay (a group of Cub Scouts were there when we went), each site in the Jacales Camping Area has a picnic table with an overhead covering.
