This was a good, if slightly pricey, one hour visit. The guides are good and the cavern is beautiful. It would have been nice to have more time to explore and take pictures at our own pace. The guides try to take their time but they have to move tours through constantly. So expect a lot of information, pretty caverns but it is a bit rushed. If we lived in the area or had more time, we may have tried the more adventurous tours.

The wine was outstanding and the experience was enhanced by Sandy's excellent service. We will definitely return and hope Sandy is there.

The San Gabriel River flows through Georgetown and is best enjoyed at the Blue Hole (south fork) as well as 180-acre rural San Gabriel Park located along Morrow Street. This is a great little park where the north and south forks of the San Gabriel come together. The river is dammed up creating a nice long watershed for birds and fish here.

The park includes your expected range of children's playground areas, BBQ pits and tables for visitors to enjoy meals. There is designated hiking and biking trail and lots of area to fish in the San Gabriel River. In the past the river was blue and very clean at the park. These days, there is quite a bit of vegetation building up, especially around the dam.

Really enjoyed walking along the river at San Gabriel Park during a recent visit to Georgetown. This is a great place for green and recreational space for residents of G-town and students at nearby Southwestern University.

The Blue Hole Park is located a few blocks west of N. Austin Ave. in Georgetown. There is parking on S. Rock Street near Monumento Restaurant. The park makes use of the South Fork of the San Gabriel River which is dammed up to create a good size body of water that is clear, blue and just beautiful against the limestone cliffs in the backdrop.

We passed by recently and found a handful of people taking advantage of the hot weather and enjoying a swim in the hole. Below the first dam there is a much smaller pool with cascades, which is nice for families with younger children. There are trails around the park, including one that takes you up the cliffs on the opposite bank.

You'll also find a few tables, public toilets. In January each year they recent trout into the Blue Hole, provides a couple weekends of fun fishing for those interested. Check the TP&W website for future release dates.

Very nice local theater with a talented cast. Ticket prices are reasonable and lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

Looking for fun things to do with our granddaughter and found this great play park for her. It was hot day so we only stayed for about an hour but so many wonderful pieces of gym and slide equipment. She really loved it.

We visited Georgetown this weekend. We had an amazing time visiting different wineries on The Square. We stopped in this winery and it was pretty full except for two “reserved” tables. The staff was very inviting and shared that we could sit at the “reserved” table as that party wasn’t arriving for another 2 hrs. We did 2 flight tastings total of 6 wines. It was good and we even were able to purchase syrup and spicy honey there too. Definitely a winery worth the visit. Thanks

We stayed in the campground for 2 weeks. The sites are a bit unleveled. The parking area is much higher than the rest. The sites are ample in size. There’s a picnic shed with a large table, a bbq grill and a fire pit. Some sites offer more shade than others. The entrance to the campground stays closed. You need a passcode to open gate. The place was pretty empty until the holiday weekend. I didn’t use the bathrooms. The park has boat docks and a swimming area with picnic sheds.

While visiting my children, I took my 5 year old granddaughter to the library. The librarian working on Sunday afternoon did such a great job. She explained to my Grandchild how to return a book, patiently answered her questions, etc. Probably would have been faster to do it herself, instead she taught Emi to be comfortable asking for help! Great experience. She loved the scavenger hunt as well. As a former librarian...well done!!

One of the interesting historic buildings in Downtown Georgetown is the Old Farmers State Bank Building along S. Austin Ave. Constructed between 1910-1912 in Classic Revival architecture, the facade is charming, features Corinthian columns and capitals along with a pediment with adornment. It is a neat building to see while browsing the quaint main square of Georgetown.

Note: The historic Farmers State Bank presently hosts the Williamson Museum which is open to the public from 12pm to 5pm (Wed - Fri) and 10am to 5pm (Sat), closed Sun, Mon & Tues each week. Entry is free and you can enjoy exhibitions about life in Williamson County in the early days. You can also arrange visits to the historic County Courthouse in the main square as well.

There are numerous monuments around the beautiful Georgetown public square including that of Robert McAlpin Williamson (aka Three-legged Willie). This bronze statue is located along S. Austin Ave. and is the work of Lucas Adam (2013). What you will see is a stately dressed Williamson with a walking cane and his famed peg leg, attached to his knee and used to support him while walking due to his severe arthritis.

Williamson was an important figure during his life (1804-1859), serving numerous roles of servitude to the state of Texas including being a Major with the Texas Rangers, newspaper founder, travelling circuit judge, Texas Supreme Court judge and early Senator for the State of Texas. In time, the country was named after Williamson, memorialising Three-legged Willie into local and state history. You can conveniently see his statue while enjoying a walk around Historic Georgetown square.

Every Texas town has one as a center piece to the town square, the one in Georgetown is no different. Still a very nice-looking building that has some interesting history, stories told in the plaques and statues located around the building.
