Fischer & Wieser's Das Peach Haus
#1 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
We happened upon Das Peach Haus on our way to the President Johnson Ranch National Park and we were enchanted by the historic buildings and cute garden in front.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
#2 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
The other reviews are right - excellent hiking, awesome views - just all around great. Park is kept litter free and it's pretty easy to wander anywhere.
The Vista at the top is breathtaking and for those with a love for science and nature the plants and wild life, including the fairy shrimp, provide endless enjoyment.
1 Way to experience it
Old Tunnel State Park
#3 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
The park ranger's presentation was brilliant -- engaging, informative, just the right amount of detail, humor, and impressive awareness of both listeners and bats.
The park ranger was interesting to listen to and we enjoyed the information she provided about the history of the tunnel, the bats and their habitat.
Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park
#4 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
Lady Bird Park is well kept, safe, and a wonderful place to picnic, play tennis, walk your dog, watch birds, host a party and play golf.
The part is also large enough that I can bring my bicycle along and make several loops around the park (which includes a couple of great hills) and can easily log 5 to 10 miles.
Enchanted Rock Fissure
#5 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
Hiked to the summit of Enchanted Rock in less than 45 minutes (the estimated time provided by the park); great views!!
The drive to Enchanted Rock is awesome, beautiful views, The park itself is very nice and very popular.
Enchanted Rock Cave
#6 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
It was $7/person to enter the park and there are trails to the summit (don’t do the loop trail if you are want to go to the summit).
One of my favorite parks in Texas.
Loop Trail
#7 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
It's 4 miles, so plan accordingly, but the views are ever-changing as you make your way around the rocks and park.
The park has one loop around the perimeter with "interior" trails that connect to it.
Cross Mountain Park
#8 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
There are some park benches at the top if you want to have a rest or just enjoy the views.
This is a city park and the trail was well cared for.
Live Oak Wilderness Trail
#9 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
Do visit the Pollinator Garden next to the swimming pool and check out their Wings Over The Hills Nature Festival last weekend in April
