Along the way, with lifejackets, helmets and headlamps, we traversed very interesting cave features, and then Mayan artifacts and, deeper into the cave, human remains thought to be from human sacrifices.
But it's fun and the main chamber is fascinating - you get to see calcified mayan ruins, including skeletons in there, making it like a museum, but fully intact in their original surroundings.

This is an easily accessible, big cave and as you walk inside, you can even see the other end of it.
You can walk inside, the cave itself is pretty short, you can see the opening on the other side.

We rode for ~2.5 hours to Big Rock Falls to have a swim and a picnic with our very helpful and capable guide, before getting back on the horses to ride back via a different route.
We have riding experience but it has been over 20 years for my husband and myself, so we were a bit nervous (we have a 13yo son, too).

We checked out Rio on Pools, Rio Frio Cave, and Big Rock Falls.
Some nice falls in the area, some for swimming like Big Rock falls.
