Part of the chickamauga battlefield park, it offers easy parking, restrooms and a short walk to a view of the river gorge downstream and Chattanooga upstream.
The views were amazing with the boats going up the river and the birds flying around and make sure to check out the waterfall in the gorge.

We enjoyed a quiet morning in Point Park learning about the Battle of Chattanooga and then did the 3 mile hike between Point Park and Cravens house which was beautiful, had great views and very little crowds.
Bob, the site interpreter was dressed in a Civil War uniform and did a great demonstration of a period rifle firing, along with a very cool discussion of the battle at Signal and Lookout Mountains.

... (taking the steps up to the Hunter Museum) or connecting to downtown near the aquarium; it is now a pedestrian bridge, with seats and historical markers, and a nice breeze with awesome sunrise and sunset views.
Great view and there are several yummy restaurants on one end (see TripAdvisor for recommendations) and the museum of art and a super cool hands-on Kid's museum on the other!

Then a leisurely stroll around the park offers sights of dogwood trees in bloom, kids playing soccer, and the Tennessee River sparkling under bridges and downtown Chattanooga across the way.

An amazing place, immersed in the green, with beautiful paths, bridges, arches, boulders, flowers, all kind of trees and plants and a stunning promontory with beautiful falls and a view over 7 states!
Great family activity, more geared towards kids but if you like amazing views it is definitely a must see! Awesome rock formations that you get to walk through and the fairy caverns are a work of art.

The Architecture is unexpected, beautiful and so harmonious with the spectacular site commanding a breathtaking view of Chattanooga and the Tennessee River with its bridges and surrounding mountains.
The special exhibit was fascinating and the permanent exhibits have some real treasures with a lot of diversity, but our favorite part of the day was the outdoor sculptures, patio views, and outdoor trails!

such a beautiful peaceful memorial site for fallen soldiers at war.beautiful site to over look all of franklin county too! the drive up is easy you can walk trails too.
The first hike we did was before you get to the university, right at the gates, Piney Point trail, this was an easy trail with a fantastic view at the end.
