- AKM_JRMCherry Hill, NJ14 contributionsThe Opryland Resort is a "must-go" experience when visiting Nashville! The conservatories and waterfalls throughout the property are beautiful and lush. The resort had their Christmas lights up as of 11/1, which added to the overall attractiveness of the resort, especially at night. Plenty to see and do,(including live music) even for a day-tripper. There are also 12 different restaurants to choose from. We recommend this very highly for tourists. It is well worth the trip from downtown Nashville. A tip: it is cheaper to take a rideshare to the front door than it is to park in their parking lot for the day. Pair this visit with a concert at the adjacent Grand Ole Opry for a totally fun day!.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nancy A299 contributionsI was lucky enough to be able to go to Cheekwood and see the special exhibit of decorated trees and garland done by Laura Dowling. Ms. Dowling was the former Chief Floral Designer for the White House. The decor is simply amazing; the home is gorgeous and the trees only add to it. Please try to get there to see this special exhibit.Written December 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Colleen CTroy, NY2,517 contributionsIf you need an escape from the Honky-Tonks this is the place to go. Plenty of free parking! There is plenty of pathways to walk to through flower gardens, waterways, statues, and of course the Parthenon! Very beautiful area.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TheRealJTForRealHopkinsville, KY594 contributionsThis place is a hidden gym just outside of Nashville, a perfect escape from the bustling city vibe. The trails are well maintained and mostly quite easy for any experienced hiker although there are some decent climbs that would be moderate for novice hikers. Abundant wildlife that is used to human contact so they aren’t skirmish which gives perfect photo opportunities.Written December 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Charlene L14 contributionsWarning you have to pay for parking which is 10.00, which we did not know till we paid to go in Zoo. This zoo is nice very big lots of walking so if you have children, make sure you get a stroller. They where getting ready for the holidays to come, very disappointed that there where no giraffes! For having a big zoo wish they had more animals. We took the tour of the house enjoyed it but kids won’t.Written October 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tricia BWisconsin1,121 contributionsDetailed drafting definitely went into the planning of this park. It displays Tennessee's variety of landscapes and provides endless Tennessee history. If you are a history buff, plan to stay for several hours. The area is easily navigable on foot. We Ubered from downtown and then Ubered to the Parthenon and back downtown. Bring a picnic or eat at one of the farmer's market restaurants. I would like to come back when the bell towers are functional.Written September 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Buxz K2 contributionsSome horse and hiking trails are now shared. Both riders and walkers are respectful of one another. Trails are well maintained. - Keke LNew York City, NY2,189 contributionsThe greenery, the sun, the water and the ducks made for a perfect day. We just sat, took in the sites and talked. - kencatronLas Vegas, NV1,769 contributionsI imagine this might be a 5 star review if we had gone during any other time of the year
other than the middle of January immediately after the coldest, snowiest days in years had occurred. It's a very nice place with over 4 miles of hiking trails along the Cumberland River encompassing 100's of acres of woods and meadows. We had a wonderful time walking around, we didn't do the entire 4 mile trail, and did manage to see a couple of deer. But there was no color and we only saw a few birds. Still, being in nature and seeing possibilities was very enjoyable.Written January 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NorCal-traveler08Orangevale, CA2,369 contributionsWe found this park near Vanderbilt University and it has a great play ground, tables/benches, and a sea monster with mosaics. The sea creature is amazing and huge. We loved walking around to see all the unique pictures in the sea creature. Over 1,000 community volunteers restored it in 1988. There is a plaque near the tail explaining the project. Our kids loved the playground and there are plenty of benches for parents to sit on.Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - R. TravelerOak Ridge, NC1,091 contributionsOn a road trip we stopped here. Great sights and some art in the area. A few play areas for kids. Parking on site and right by Nissan Stadium.
Could be better but it is nice and clean. I imagine if they do music or shows at the open area it would be nice.
