#1 of 36 Museums in Memphis
... is fascinating to see the how Elvis lived, the tour of the house itself is fascinating and would have been worth it on its own however across the road is a complex of fascinating museums, shops and food outlets.
We were pleasantly surprised by the surrounding museums that included Elvis' recordings, the history of his career, costumes used in concerts, and a museum filled with more photos and furnishings from the home.

As my luck has been on this month-long art-hunting trip with a NARM (North American Reciprocal Museums) pass, most of the museum was closed to do new installations.
The Dixon is a jewel of a museum - small and eminently visitable with many unusual exhibits and sometimes world class ones.
