#1 of 2 Sights & Landmarks in Worth Matravers
A great favourite of mine, from Worth Matravers (after a beer and pasty in the Square and Compasses!) down the pretty valley path to Winspit cliff quarries and caves, a fascinating place.
Earn that delicious lunch at the Tea Rooms in Worth Matravers and walk along the cliff tops down to Chapmans Pool where the dog can cool off while you search for ammonites in the rocks.

Parked up at Spywey NT car park and headed off to Worth Matravers along the Priests Way, quick coffee and then onto Winspit and along the Coastal Path towards Durlston Head via Dancing Ledge.
Sunbeams danced on the sea as our 12 mile trek took us to hidden caves taking us back to yesteryear when smugglers hid their contraband deep inside the coves.

Pass the turning for Acton, go straight over the 'crossroads' of paths, through the gate and carry on this path until you come to the gate on your right with a sign for the dinosaur tracks.
The route is easily doable with a pushchair.

The public footpath leaves from the SW corner of this car park, it crosses the coastal path and then down the side of a steep valley – there are quite a few steps so wear suitable footwear.
the best views here are from the South West Coast Path reached by going across the fields from the last Car park at the end of the village.

Our route was only on the road for about 200 yards in total, between the heath and a secluded valley that leads to Middle Beach, and then on the return trip via the footpath by Studland Stables.
This was a most enjoyable walk across the heathland seeing lizards and slow works on our way.The views from the agglestone Rock were spectacular you could see around for miles.

We would certainly recommend visiting this simple but ancient church, preferably after walking along a section of the Saxon wall to immerse yourself in the history of this village.

The latter because as the sea erodes the dunes and cliffs around the bay (a definite example of Climate Change) there is every intention of allowing this World War II monument to take its chances with the elements...
Parked in the closest National Trust car park and enjoyed an easy if very blowy walk to the structure.
