Such a well-maintained route, lovely nature with all the bridges and streams, and really so easy - older people can definitely do it easily!
You can park at Damascus and the outfitter will take you to the top of White Top mountain where the train stations is and will put you out and point you in the right direction.

The views are amazing, the weather is always cool, the ponies are beautiful, and the trails through and around the park are well maintained and always enjoyable to hike.
Grayson Highlands is my favorite Virginia state park because of the amazing views, incredible hiking opportunities, wild ponies, and a good campground.

... grandson for his first visit to the Park and we had an absolute blast!! Rode the paddle boats Saturday and Sunday, hiked a couple trails, and just enjoyed God's beautiful nature at Hungry Mother State Park!
This is one of the best treasures that Virginia has and I would recommend anyone that loves mountains, lakes, camping, water sports, mountain beaches and getting back to nature to visit this wonderful place!
