What travelers are saying
- Nicole C3 contributionsVery nice peaceful atmosphere, beautiful swans and gardens. Go here if you love a good nature trail. The side we visited was about 3/4 mile long with plenty of places to rest and take in the beautiful scenery along the way. There was also a nice little playground for the children at the end as a special treat. Would definitely go here again if traveling to Sumter. Best part is this was totally free!Written May 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Norma H9 contributionsThis park offers baseball cages, tennis courts, water pad for kids and playground area. On the otherside is a concrete walking path and two small wooden bridges to walk over and see fish and turtles from. The trees, plants and flowers are all beautiful. It's a very peaceful path to walk on.Written July 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barbara KSumter, SC239 contributionsThe Sumter Gallery of Art, in the Historic District, though small, has excellent taste in their changing art exhibits. All media--photography to oils and water color to fabric, to clay to popsicle sticks-- are displayed from a wide variety of artists, local to international. Thought provoking, playful, imaginative. You can't go wrong with a visit. Free, donations appreciated. Nice gift shop.Written June 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dewayne PElizabethtown, KY1,820 contributionsThis small park is the remains of a larger area where General Thomas Sumter - namesake of the renowned Civil War's first battle at Fort Sumter - lived after the war. There are several parking places with the park in a residential area. The park itself consists of a few graves from family members including General Sumter.Written March 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dewayne PElizabethtown, KY1,820 contributionsThis small battle site was inspirational to me and definitely worth a stop if you are a Civil War buff. There are a few markers and monuments and the battlefield is pretty well preserved. There is a small parking area, no fee, and plenty of information about the battle.Written March 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - poptopEBSLexington, SC279 contributionsMany would greatly enjoy even a 30 minute visit. I spent nearly 2 hours there & had great talking with Diana Roof, museum site manager. When I went to The Citadel for college in 1962, I had ZERO awareness of antisemitism because Jews and were such a prominent part of our community. One display in the museum excellently affirms this. Great summary of Jews in S. C. as well as many of the Sumter families. The Temple with seating area & alter and plaques of deceased members is part of the museum. If possible, I highly recommend a call ahead to see if Diana will be on site.Written July 3, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - B9788DNjessicaaSumter, SC5 contributionsMy son and I saw the Sherlock Holmes play here and had an amazing time. Yes it is little, but that’s part of the charm. There’s not a bad seat in the the house and the local theater talent is amazing! There is a good variety of shows for all ages as well; family friendly, teens, and “adults only”. It is a wonderful time close to home!Written March 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The owners are downright WONDERFUL souls and they have created the most amazing, creative, clever, captivating, and fun rooms in all of the escape room universe. You will not regret coming here, I promise you! These rooms are unlike anything we’ve ever experienced and we have done dozens of escape rooms. The mechanics and engineering feats they’ve created to make these rooms are absolutely incredible. Once they found out it was my birthday, cupcakes magically appeared in one of our rooms too!!!! I felt so loved!!!
And the owner even helped me with my car trouble without even being asked!!!!!

- jlantern3Columbia, SC12,452 contributionsVery beautiful church- stunning to view and very picturesque. The cemetery behind it has many older graves and is the final resting place of Joel Roberts Poinsett. Easy to locate his grave as there are history markers. The church was constructed of ram-earth.. A must stop for church lovers.Written July 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
