We went to the Charleston Highland games this weekend, and I was very happy to see the park has paved pathways all over! We could go to the clan tents, the Celtic music, the physical contests, food trucks, the vendors, although the hard packed/asphalt gravel path was in need of repair, the parking was reasonably close. They had portajohns, which would have been a problem, as they were in the sand and not big enough to get a wheelchair into. We went to the restaurant momo's and it was handicapped accessible, but we didn't check out the bathrooms here, either. the restaurant had valet parking, and was reasonable in price. The park is free, the games had an entry fee. lots of benches and a few swings. people come here to fish! pet friendly.

Visited several shops and all were friendly and appriciated our business. We had an 11 year old with us who has a difficult time making decisions and the merchants were very easy to work with until the final decision was made.

We were staying across the street from the Tanger outlet mall and happened to spot this museum tucked away in the corner of the complex. As our plans had been rained out for the afternoon, we decided to take a look. We were amazed by the collection of about two dozen finely restored fire engines from an 1857 hand pumper through the horse drawn steam pumpers of the late 19th/early 20th century to motorized fire trucks from around 1910 through the 1960s. The museum also includes displays of badges, uniforms, helmets, and other firefighting related equipment. It is a great way to spend an hour or so.

Great group tour by John our docent. He had the task of keeping 30 middle schoolers interested and engaged. He did that. Exhibits are extensive and compelling. Nice gift shop as well.

This brewery used to share space with a collision center. We are a long way from those days now! This new spot shows how successful this brewery has been and once you get a taste of some of their offerings, you will see why.

This place features inside and outside seating in a huge nice open airy space . There are regular events of all types during the week - so take a look at their site when making your plans. There are dozens of types of beer and cider. There is a nice menu that pairs nicely with the beer.

These people are brewers and are proud of their product. Do not be afraid to ask questions - they will do samples to make sure you are getting what you want. This place is all about making long term customers - i can’t stress that enough. It works - we are now definitely in that number, and you will be too.

A large park with plenty of places to walk. Nice playground for the kids with pebble rock as the foundation. We wanted to play in splashpad but it closes at 6p. We still paid $2 each to get into the park, so the water being closed was a huge bummer.

This place was great for adults and kids who love the water! My toddler loved hanging out near the smaller slides and in the toddler pool area. The fun that he had alone was worth it, and we could have let him enjoy it all day.
The adults also enjoyed the lazy river, wave pool, and bigger slides.
Definitely be prepared to rent a locker as with most water parks to protect your valuables and either pack food to eat outside the park or some extra cash to purchase food.

It was too cold for us to play putt putt or to race go karts, but my husband and I enjoyed the arcade. I wish there were more claw machines to win prices and I would love to see a laser tag be added!

Haven't been to an Arena Concert since Menudo was a thing. "Sabes a Chocolate" y No Te Reprimas still make me swoon.

So when my wife suggested that we see Jackson Browne & James Taylor, (YES, they're still ALIVE!) I made sure I didn't have any other pressing engagements that day, like a Dental Deep Cleaning or a Colonoscopy.

Made her happy and bought 2 tickets to see these two relics of the "sensitive songwriter" genre. Luckily the nosebleed section was pretty affordable.

Once we'd arrived at the Coliseum, (parking was a breeze), we made our way into the venue surrounded by shuffling, limping, oldsters (like us), some with canes and walkers.

For a minute, I thought we'd gotten our dates wrong and were attending an Oral Roberts Faith Healing event. I hoped he could heal my wonky knee.

Made our way to our seats and watched as hundreds of concert goers struggled gamely to ascend the steep stairs, stopping every now and then for a hit from their portable oxygen units.

How old was the audience? Many of them had their great grandchildren drive them to the show and the usual concert scent of Acapulco Gold was now replaced by Ben Gay and Penetrex.

The next thing we noticed was HOW FRIGGING COLD it was in the Arena! I swear I could see my breath. I know they play hockey here, but this was ridiculous. I actually considered going to the T-shirt kiosk and see if they had any Jackson Browne Snuggies or James Taylor hand-warmers for sale.

Then the lights dimmed and a gnarly looking old roadie took the stage. I asked my wife who he was and she replied "Jackson Browne you twit!" Wow. Guess I hadn't kept up with his career over the years. (James Taylor looked pretty ancient too - but gosh, they're both 73! and in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

GREAT SHOW. GREAT SOUND. GREAT MEMORIES.

It was a truly memorable event with both artists sounding almost as good as they did in their prime, but with a lot less hair. Just remember to bring your winter coat.

We had a lovely date afternoon at Freehouse. The scenery is amazing. The beer was tasty and offered at a fair price, both there and to go.

The limited edition oyster stout was fantastic!

    The scenery was lovely.

    Worth visiting first sure!

We visited one evening and had the IPA and wheat beer, both were good. Also had a large pretzel, which went well with the beer. A good, friendly feeling, and axe throwing available if you want it. It was close enough to the hotel we were staying at, so we didn't have to drive.

Beer is cold and a great selection with their and local brews
Food is OK, could have been served hotter.
Music on a Sunday was great, I recommend sitting near the doors by the restaurant entrance as the band does play loud -- making conversation difficult.
Never felt rushed to vacate the table -- a big plus for US restaurants!

Homecoming 2021!! my 1st large outing since the pandemic started 2 years ago!! The University has changed, it's really beautiful and bigger, they've added more buildings. It was great seeing old College Friends I haven't seen in over 30 years. CSU will always be family and home.
