What travelers are saying
- AnnMarieSassGreen Cove Springs, FL173 contributionsWe took a 90+ minute tour of the USS Yorktown. Ad (?) was our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. Answered all questions and we never felt rushed. The ship is HUGE - I highly recommend you pay for the tour. The tour guide let us know what we hadn't seen at the end of the tour so we could explore on our own.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike M2 contributionsA great historical site. I was impressed with the enslaved people's quarters, and having something different to learn in each one. I really enjoyed the Gullah lady's singing and story-telling.
Also, the tractor tour of the grounds was fun.Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darlene DCumberland, RI67 contributionsThis was a great place to walk and be out with nature. We like how it was easy to follow and color coded for each trail. - Joy S1 contributionWonderful place to stay. Can get into Charlerston and to the beach easily without the craziness of navigating the city. Great restaurants.Written October 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andy T3 contributionsCaptain Toby and the crew at OSA had us out and sailing within 15 minutes of arrival. Clean, well maintained safe vessel with plenty of room for everyone. Toby shared his wealth of knowledge on sailing and Charleston history. My daughter took the tiller and barely gave it up for the whole 3 hours we spent on the water. Thanks for the "Intro to Sailing" we will definitely be back ... Sleepy Zig Zag and Co.Written April 18, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carolj524Elmont, NY189 contributionsWe went to this farm to get fresh tomatoes to make homemade sauce. The place is so big. I couldn't walk any more so I stayed with the owner and we talked until my sister came back.Written September 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dambankerToronto, Canada1,232 contributionsGreat place for a walk, very peaceful and lots of scenery. This was suggested to me by a local working at our hotel.
According to the local lore, the bridge was the first causality of the Civil War as the Union forces on Fort Sumter destroyed it as it was used to supply Fort Moultrie. Haven't read anything to verify this but its sounds plausible and makes for a good excuse to visit here. If you need one. Nonetheless it gives an interesting perspective as you can see both forts from here.Written December 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The small museum in the historic home was closed for the season so we did not get to see the exhibits inside. There were restrooms by the small parking lot that were open and they were clean. A couple of interpretive panels near the restrooms told a bit about Charles Pinckney’s 42 years in public service and his role in developing the US Constitution. For example, he contributed the wording about not requiring a religious test to hold office. The actual buildings from when Pinckney owned Snee Farm no longer exist, but the 1828-1830 home was built on the same site where his home had been. There is a monument to Pinckney under a large tree but he is actually buried elsewhere. The grounds have beautiful camellias and live oaks. There are interpretive panels along the walkways that tell about archaeological research, the plantation’s slave community, and other topics. It was a quiet, peaceful place and well worth a short visit.Written March 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S MDandridge, TN46 contributionsWe took our son there to cool off and get off the beach for awhile. We arrived after 3pm and the price is a little cheaper. They are open until 6. He loved the big water slide. There is a splash pad, lazy river, smaller slides, and more. The staff is very friendly. They have several life guards who seem to keep a good eye on things. They keep the area clean. There are big umbrellas over a wading end of a pool, if you are wanting to cool off, but not go through a splash pad or slide.Written July 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
