- Bruce K6 contributionsExcellent day fishing with Captain Ben! We learned a ton about the area and was topped off when my daughter-in-law landed a Black Nose Shark. We caught a variety of fish and kept the Sea Trout and it was awesome as a fried fillet and ceviche. We even did a bit of dolphin watching on our way in. My family absolutely loved the experience and Captain Ben was awesome, he gave some excellent recommendations for local restaurants to try as well. - James S2 contributionsGreat experience. Captain Hutson is top notch and was able to put us on the Reds even in July. Also he is a great guy to be in the boat with. Can’t wait to fish with him again. South Up Gear provided our family with great gear and bait, a full training on how everything worked, fishing advice for the IOP, and even area restaurant recommendations (which we used a lot) and tourist information. Absolutely everything was provided and we needed nothing more. It was a very personalized experience with great communication. - Chief60161 contributionsWent for a mid-day excursion with 4 people...it is pricey (500.00), but boat and fuel are expensive. Started out very well, with everyone catching something within the first hour. The smallest on the boat of course caught the biggest fish (12 lb. Bonnet Shark).
We didn't catch a lot, but the time of day wasn't ideal...Capt. J. R. was very friendly and took good care of everyone on board.

He make every effort to insure we had a great & productive day! Despite the weather we did catch fish ( redfish, black drum, trout, etc.) & had a great time!! - Lily1 contributionMost amazing experience I've been on. It was my boyfriends 21st birthday we rented out a boat and a captain. I couldn't have gotten a better view of Charleston until the sunset flight it was absolutely astonishing. we flew out of a private mount pleasant airport. they took us up towards the isle of palms and over the intercoastal and over downtown Charleston the view was unbelievable. our pilot was a very insightful young man who knew a lot about the city. I had an extremely comfortable flight, they even provide headphones which is very nice. I would highly recommend the sunset flight and boat charters its one of the best experiences I've been on and will love to do it again!! I also want to say thank you to Jenifer Sancho she really made this even better telling us the deal they had what the business had to offer. - Carolyn D1 contributionShane is an awesome captain and took his time to help and show how to do things. He knew where to fish and lots of stories to share. My son and I will be talking about the sharks we caught and the 15 other fish. We would definitely book Shane again at the Barrier Island Fishing Charter in South Carolina.

My son had planned on bringing his own equipment but it didn't work out for the flight. We reached out to William on Friday morning desperate for equipment. Within hours he delivered a full package to our condo and my son was able to fish for our long weekend vacation. William checked on us, suggested fishing locations and was happy to answer all of our questions. He was helpful, honest and genuinely wanted my son to have a great fishing experience. - Kenneth S2 contributionsCapt. Ben Floyd took us to spots where we caught fish right away. We were 4 freshwater fisherman fishing inshore salt water for the first time.. He showed us how to bait hooks with Fiddler crabs, and best way to hook and land the Sheepshead which were in prime time. He cleaned our fish (not part of charter cost).
