- DisneyDi856Mantua, NJ31 contributionsExcellent tour. Took a boat ride through the harbor seeing pelicans and dolphin along the way. Went to Morris Island and found many shark teeth and other shells. It was a beautiful beach. Then on the way back were several pods of dolphins. An enjoyable and memorable tripWritten October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Nat DCharleston, SC124 contributionsHosted a Wounded Warrior Project event here!
Hugh (the owner) is awesome! Very easy to work with to set up private events! He makes sure participants understand the safety and mechanics behind climbing at the facility before going out and having a blast!
We had a group under 15 people so it was a quaint experience. The facility can accommodate much larger groups. Hugh had music playing and there were several picnic tables near the climbing area to rest or for spectators who were not climbing. There is a stand alone building where you sign in, get a helmet, gear, drink, etc. it also has restrooms.
Our group had a great time and will likely return again in the future. Upon leaving I learned about upcoming opportunities for laser tag there as well. I would highly recommend this business for a unique challenge for individuals or groups!Written October 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Compass362445116171 contributionMy friend and I had a great fishing trip with Captain Geoff. He was very knowledgeable about the ocean and knew exactly where the fish were. Not only did he know where to find them, but he also knew how to get them in the boat. I am looking forward to going again next year!Written April 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- GiberttheDadAiken, SC51 contributionsCapt. Kevin delivered a great fishing outing this week. Our party of three met him at the Folly Beach boat ramp for an inshore half-day outing. One of us had never caught a fish before; her very first fish was an 11 lb. Redfish, followed a few minutes later by a 9 pounder. Capt. Kevin worked tirelessly watching for activity, keeping our lines baited and in the water, and helping us position our casts. We all caught fish and went home with enough for fish tacos for nine.
This was our second trip with Charleston Fish Rod Bending Co. A couple of years ago he took my party on a nearshore tour with a similar fantastic experience.
Thanks, Capt. Kevin! We’ll call next time we’re visiting the Charleston beaches.Written August 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Everyone had an absolute blast and it was by far the favorite activity of the weekend! All of the guys were super friendly and helpful --- they were constantly checking on us to see if we needed a drink, etc. Definitely recommend!Written August 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - K T5 contributionsI don't want to set a standard that is not completely dictated by man, but nature, tides and luck have a lot to contribute...here we go: we went in the end of May for 4 hours and caught at least 16 sharks, most Atlantic Sharp Nose of varying sizes and up to 4 foot Sand Sharks...they wrestle...it's a rush. Last time we chartered on a river a little further south we caught 3 shark only. We cruised the harbor, went past USS Yorktown, anchored at Drum Island and found a dozen shark teeth, some thumb size. I laughed through the entire trip because the boat was amazing compared to ours and I've fished a little, but these fish, sharks, made a lot of splash...it was very comfortable and fun. Capt. Chris suggested that I stand at the center console and he explained some of the digital screens to me. The boat was clean with Trex-like decking, soft/plush seats, center console with canopy. The fishing equipment was top of the line as well as effective. We were assigned Captain Chris and he is knowledgeable, personable and cheerful. He worked well with our boys; and us parents even caught a shark each. Kendra was great with local advice and logistics for the trip and my questions are never ending. I think we will try a different season to see what we can catch.Written May 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason J4 contributionsWhat an experience!!! Captain Gates was beyond what I expected. He threw us onto some fish almost immediately and the fun never stopped! It was our first time doing inshore fishing and it was more than expected. I was fortunate enough to hit the “grand slam” of fishing with a Red fish, Sea Trout, and a Flounder! Together my buddy and myself snagged over 15-17 fish! Ranging from medium to extra large! The variety of the fishing was unexpected for sure, so each new species was a blast to catch in its own rite. My buddy landed a random sting ray which was insane to us. We took home a keeper Red Fish my buddy got, and the magnificent flounder I caught. Captain Gates was even so kind to dress down the fish for us! The weather was on point, the BYOB was cold and frothy, and the captain KNEW his stuff! So excited to share the experience and recommend Captain Gates to anyone who is looking for an adventure and stories to share for years to come! 10/10 would recommend. I look forward to coming back to Folly Beach and reaching out the captain again for future excursions! Check him out!Written August 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
