- lynn t1 contributionWhat a great music history in an iconic venue. If you enjoy intimate environs for your concerts this will not disappoint. It was the last performance during the Spoleto festival and I don’t believe it lost any enthusiasm. We look forward to returning next year to enjoy this performance, and more of the other 100 performances during this festival.Written June 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joanneK7 contributionsWe accidentally passed the theater, saw there was a performance that evening and bought tickets to a WONDERFUL performance of "She Loves Me" with a talented cast and professional staging. I hope they do a better job of promoting in the future. If I hadn't stumbled past, I would not have known about them and they deserve to be seen. (New Yorker and theater snob. I don't give out compliments lightly.)Written December 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Curious_Traveller636London, UK501 contributionsWe had been past this many times but this was our first time attending. We arrived just before the start at 8 and we didn’t have any problems getting in. Grabbed a beer and off we went. Saw three acts, with the Dead South as the main attraction. We loved it. Small enough venue and $22 a ticket was good value. Will definitely go again.Written January 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Super voices and professional actors, even the young boy was amazing. A wonderful historic place with a big stage. You sit at unreserved round tables so get there early to pick your table.Written May 16, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cara ECharleston, SC1 contributionI moved to Charleston from New York a few years ago and having heard the NY Philharmonic for years, my standards are high. I now subscribe to the Charleston Symphony and can attest that CSO is a top caliber professional orchestra that would be welcomed in any city in this country. Two weeks ago, Izhtak Perlman performed with CSO. This past weekend we had the winner of the Juilliard Concerto Conpetition as a soloist, and a dynamic program that included Horst’s The Planets with film visuals from NASA. We are regularly attracting celebrated guest conductors and soloists, and our full time musicians are top notch and capable of a wide range of repertoire. Plus we have a fabulous and contemporary concert hall at the Gaillard Center. Put this on your to-do list if you appreciate classical music!Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - prekteacher1214New York City, NY260 contributionsWe stopped at Mezz after dinner for drinks and music. It was a really friendly bar with a great jazz band. Cat was a very talented singer and we loved her band. The drink menu was interesting, but the young bartender seemed unfamiliar with the recipes required.Written November 27, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sputnik904Ansonia, CT75 contributionsThe Plantation Singers appear at Hall Chophouse for Gospel Brunch every Sunday. This was the highlight of my trip to Charleston! Amazing voices and the group will have you clapping and singing along! They create such a happy atmosphere! I look forward to visiting Charleston again and I would definitely plan another visit to Halls to see them again. Have watched their videos on YouTube dozens of times since.Written June 19, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah K1 contributionWe have attended 2 Vienna Light Orchestra concerts, Magical Movie Scores and a Christmas concert. Both were amazing! The lighting effects and exceptional performances by the talented musicians made the concerts unforgettable. The Christmas concert last December was the highlight of the holiday season for us.Written April 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
